Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Bloodbath in Brooklyn

Facing the question, Chen Mo coldly smiled and slowly drew the pistols from the holsters on his thighs.

"You kidnapped someone from my martial arts school, and you still ask who I am?"

The leader was initially puzzled, then his face turned to shock. "It's you! How… how did you come back?"

They had heard of Chen Mo's exploits. The reason they dared to target the martial arts school, aside from the instigation of the two families, was mainly because Chen Mo had joined the army and was far away in Europe, making it unlikely for him to return anytime soon. With the lure of profit, they had dismissed the threat of Chen Mo. Rumor had it that Chen Mo had brought a large fortune from China, all hidden in the martial arts school.

Many forces had their eyes on the school, but Chen Mo's reputation still lingered, and the strength of the four martial artists couldn't be underestimated, so most were still watching and waiting.

Upon learning that the family of one of the four martial artists lived near the school, the leader came up with this brilliant idea: lure one out with their family and ambush them. He didn't believe that over twenty guns couldn't take down one expert. After that, the martial arts school would be in chaos, and the opportunity would arise.

But who would have thought that the very person they feared, the one they dared to act against only in his absence, would suddenly appear before him? The leader felt a chill down his spine, as if he could already smell death. He knew very well how "Mad Dog" Tony and his gang had died. Was he to follow in their footsteps? He didn't want to die!

The desire to survive temporarily suppressed his fear. No matter how skilled you are, can you still be unafraid of bullets?

Thinking this, a sinister smile flashed across the leader's face. "Shoot him!"

His men immediately opened fire, over twenty bullets shooting towards Chen Mo from different angles.

Seeing Chen Mo about to die at his hands, the leader's mouth curled into a smile. Killing the feared Chen Mo would surely elevate his status in the underworld, and Brooklyn would have three major families!

He was dreaming of his success when he suddenly realized that Chen Mo's figure had vanished in a flash, and the bullets hit nothing but air, not even grazing his clothes.

"How is this possible?!"

A person dodging bullets was beyond his imagination.

The gang members began to panic. What kind of enemy was this, who could dodge bullets?

Without giving them more time to be shocked, Chen Mo dodged the bullets and started to fight back with his dual pistols.

Since the twenty-plus gang members were spread out across the warehouse, Chen Mo couldn't take them all out at once. He had to dodge while shooting back.

His first shot was aimed at the leader, who was the most conspicuous. A bullet exploded through the leader's eye, entered his brain, and exited through the back of his head, splattering brain matter and blood on the nearby gang members.

The battle had just begun, and their leader was already taken out with a headshot. The gang members were stunned for a moment, then started firing wildly at Chen Mo's position.

Chen Mo dodged the bullets while picking off the gang members one by one.

Seeing their comrades fall one by one while the enemy remained unscathed under their suppressive fire, the remaining gang members finally broke down. Unable to fight, they decided to flee.

The completely panicked gang members abandoned their attack and rushed towards the warehouse door. Chen Mo's gunfire continued behind them, and they hoped to run faster, letting their comrades take the bullets for them.

The gang members, originally scattered in various corners, all converged at the door, making it easier for Chen Mo. He didn't need to dodge anymore and could just aim and shoot.

By the time ten or so gang members reached the door, only one was left.

This lucky one, who ran the fastest, burst out of the warehouse door, only to find several cold bodies lying on the ground. The guards at the door had already been taken out.

Sweating profusely, he looked up to see six people in black combat suits, just like Chen Mo's, standing ready with their guns aimed at him.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

A series of gunshots rang out, and another lifeless body fell to the ground.

When the gunfire started inside the warehouse, the group outside had immediately attacked, taking out the guards at the door. Following Chen Mo's instructions, they waited there. After a long period of intense gunfire inside, only one person had come running out.

With the fall of the last person, the gunfire finally ceased. Shortly after, Chen Mo emerged with the mother and child.

While Wang Kun's family reunited and comforted each other, Howard approached Chen Mo and asked, "Is that it?"

"What else?" Chen Mo replied, giving Howard a look.

"Why didn't you leave more for us? I only fired two shots!" Howard had been ready for a big fight, but ended up only firing twice before the battle was over.

"You should be grateful. I left that one for you on purpose," Chen Mo said, looking at Howard's unsatisfied expression. He seriously wondered if Howard was a bit of a maniac.

"How about I leave more for you next time? How many do you want, ten or twenty?"

Howard was taken aback. "Next time?"

"We've rescued the hostages and taken out the kidnappers. Where are the ten or twenty more coming from?"

Chen Mo's eyes flashed coldly. "These were just a bunch of fools being used. The real masterminds behind this are the two major mafia families!"

"Tonight, I'm going to cleanse Brooklyn with blood!"

Howard, instead of being scared, looked excited.

"Good! Those bastards should have been dealt with long ago. The government has been too lenient. Let S.H.I.E.L.D. take care of these societal tumors! Let's wipe them all out tonight!"

Chen Mo looked at the excited Howard with a strange expression. He was now certain that beneath Howard's refined exterior was a heart full of cynicism and a penchant for battle.

Considering Howard's other identity, Chen Mo understood. After all, Howard was America's biggest arms dealer, and his lab was full of various new weapons. Calling him a warmonger wasn't far off. People were just fooled by his refined appearance and inventor persona.

"I never realized you were so eager for battle," Chen Mo said playfully. "How about you go first next time?"

"I'm a passionate young man too!" Howard said enthusiastically, then added, "Besides, with you here, what do I have to worry about? Haha!"
