Every day, I hope this is all just a nightmare.

Every day, I let myself live in these delusions because, without them, I'm afraid I'll lose the last shreds of my sanity.
I imagine myself as a bird, soaring high above the world's corruption, free from criticism, free from pain. I don't have to think about anything, just drift away on the gentle breeze. I spread my wings wide and fly—up, up, and up. Finally, feel the taste of freedom at last.
And then, just as I begin to touch the sky, a cold, heavy chain wraps around me and yanks me back down.
Gone is the blue sky and the sun's comforting light.
I am falling into a bottomless darkness.
The light fades as the darkness swallows me whole.
I am falling...
I am fading...
I am nothing.
I am forever trapped within this eternal depth.
