Clarissa began to wonder why Desdra had not made any move yet when she heard the voice. It was from Elan, the company's CEO.
It was unlike Desdra to remain quiet like that. Clarissa noticed her shivering, her hand still caressing her cheeks. At this rate, Desdra might burst into tears, crying that Clarissa had hit her. But at least, she had done the impossible. Hitting people was wrong and a barbaric move, but the story could be different when it was Desdra.
Could it be that the slap had been so unexpected that it made Desdra calmer all of a a sudden? Sometimes, maybe violent was the best option for your enemies...
"Clarissa Hart, are you deaf?" His voice said out loud, much more colder this time.
Sure, if they wanted to turn her into the villain, then maybe that was exactly what she would turn into. And villains had no fear. For a moment, she felt like she could see Desdra whimpered.
Clarissa turned to face Elan, her eyes blazing red from the anger that had taken over her. Elan gave a start, but quickly shrugged it off. Now, she could see Stella and Denis next to Liam muttering something low.
Well, this must be the end for her if her own colleagues couldn't even believe her. Elan turned and was heading for the elevator. Clarissa followed in a manner that signified she was not hurrying at all. Desdra was behind her now, waddling like a penguin. It seemed her face had calmed and wasn't too red from the side to side glance Clarissa took, though, one of Desdra's minions had been asking why her eyes looked red.
One by one, everyone made it to Elan's office, though he only gave way for Clarissa and her team members, and Desdra.
Elan did not talk, instead, he was screaming at the top of his voice from time to time, not caring that he was causing only headache for everyone else. Liam had airpods sticking in his ears.
"Hey you, get out of my office, or remove those airpods right now." He yelled out the orders.
Liam did not falter, and didn't take the airpods off. "With all due respect, sir, your deafening voice should be loud enough to be heard at the very bottom floor. Just say what you have to say."
Stella got closer to him, flashing him a warning glance. Clarissa wished she had the strength to even begin to wonder just who Liam was, and why he was always able to speak to Elan that way. Perhaps he was really rich and Elan was his childhood friend who had gone sour like Desdra?
"I don't understand what is going on here," Clarissa suddenly found herself saying. She couldn't contain the amount of suspense playing around her again.
Elan growled, reminding Clarissa of an old neighbor's Rottweiler. "This is outrageous! Who's the boss here, please remind me again? How can you talk like a fool with no brain at all? Look at the damage you've caused the company!"
Clarissa refused to be dismissed like that. "Damage? I don't understand, sir."
"Desdra, how are things going on your own end?" Elan cleared his throat and asked.
It seemed Desdra had healed from whatever brief trauma she had received from that slap because once again, that evil smile had returned to her face.
"She's on her way as we speak..." Desdra stared at her phone, "Oh, she's here now." She walked towards the door and opened up, letting in a fellow on dark hoodie. At least ten men followed her in, guiding him like he was one fragile egg.
Clarissa looked closer now and realized it was a she. When she took off her hoodie and let her hair loose, that face...
"Sun mi." It was Denis voice that had called out.
Sun mi was exactly how she looked like online with her oddly pink hair and cat winged liner that had started to define her everyday look. The dark hoodie must had been her disguise from her fans--they seemed to be everywhere.
Sun mi looked like she was in her late twenties, but from the research Clarissa had made, she was in fact only twenty years. Maybe that age was fake so she would fit into the kpop community, or maybe sun mi just really looked older than her age.
"Please, I understand it must be really traumatizing for you, but could you recap everything that happened on Saturday?" Desdra said calmly. "And how you had reached out to me?"
Clarissa was expecting some kind of accent but the lady spoke really fine. "This was all thanks to you, Desdra. Otherwise, I was ready to take severe actions against the company. "
Clarissa realized some of the men had brought out cameras and were filming the whole scene.
Elan went over to her, giving one of his ugly and contemptuous laughters. "Please, let's leave that part out. Hmm? Thank you for forgiving our incompetence."
Incompetence? How can he sell his company out like that?
Sun mi made some severe accusations about how Clarissa had contacted her and had not stop doing so for days, until she agreed to meet on Saturday. Then threatened her to signing some files for the company so she would get away from the loser's teams.
Clarissa walked over to sun mi, standing face to face with her. She ignored people's scream and wanted to see sun mi for herself.
"Say it to my face directly and stop avoiding eye contact. Have you ever seen me in your life? Have you ever seen me in person? What proof do you have to be making these serious allegations? Who set you up to this? You know I could sue your ass, despite being a celebrity, right?"
Elan spat out some warning but Desdra got in between Clarissa and the popstar, moving Sun mi from her. "She has proof, actually." She said in a proud manner, having a frown appear on Clarissa's face.
Liam asked, "proof? Show us."
