Mia's eyes locked onto Jake's, her gaze piercing. "I know you're innocent, Jake. I was wrong to accuse you."
Jake's skepticism was evident. "Why the sudden change of heart?"
Mia's expression softened. "I realized I was blinded by anger and hurt. I want to make things right."
Samantha's eyes narrowed. "What do you want, Mia?"
Mia hesitated. "I have information about Rachel's death. Something that could clear Jake's name."
Jake's interest piqued. "What is it?"
Mia glanced around nervously. "Not here. Meet me at the old oak tree in the park at midnight. Come alone."
With that, Mia vanished into the night, leaving Jake and Samantha wondering.
"Can we trust her?" Samantha asked.
Jake's mind raced. "I don't know, but we need answers."
At midnight, Jake approached the old oak tree, his heart pounding. Mia waited, her figure shrouded in shadows.
"Jake, I'm sorry," Mia whispered. "I was manipulated. Your father's secrets...they're bigger than you think."
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness. Jake's father.
"Jake, don't believe her," his father warned. "Mia's using you."
