"And that concludes the chapter 1 of this story"
I closed the book titled "The Entity" and put it back to the place where it belongs. I look around inside a quiet library. I slowly stand up and walked to the door. I thanked the librarian and walked towards outside.
When outside, I look at the clock hanging in the empty hallway of my school.
"18.00"
"Guess I'll just go home then"
I went back home.
"" Tomorrow ""
I woke up from my sleep with my eyes fixed on the dark sky.
"Wait… the dark sky ?"
I quickly sat up and looked around me. What should have been my room is now a plain dark field. I started to panick quickly turned my head from left to right. What is happening to me ?
Suddenly a dim light from a far appears. It approach me, and slowly started to take the shape of a woman. Suddenly a beautiful figure of a goddess stands with an ethereal beauty. I can feel the commanding, graceful yet powerful prescence of her pure existence. The white gown woven from light itself, the fabric shifting and glowing with every movement. With her emerald colored eyes, sparkled with wisdom and an ancient power. Her lips curled into a gentle smile.
As she looked at me, her voice, smooth, and melodious, broke the silence. She said "Hello, Kazuki" each syllable lika a soothing caress.
"Hello ? Where am I ?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly as I tried to make sense of my surroundings.
""Forgive me for the disturbance I hath wrought upon thee, Kazuki-san," she replied, her tone laden with genuine regret.
"What do you mean? Who are you?" I questioned, the confusion in my voice evident as I looked into her emerald eyes, seeking answers to the multitude of questions swirling in my mind.
"I am Aetherna, she whom thou dost call God," she proclaimed, her voice resonating with an ethereal echo that seemed to vibrate through the very air around us.
"Aetherna ?"
My eyes widened as the realization hit me. That name—how could I have forgotten? It was none other than the goddess from the novel I had been reading earlier.
"Verily, Kazuki-san, I have summoned thee hither, for thou art the chosen one."
"The chosen one ?"
Surprised, I gazed into the goddess's soothing eyes, searching for answers.
"But..."
"Indeed, for thou hast discovered the ancient text and surely comprehended its wisdom."
"The book? The novel I just read, this... this is..." I trailed off, struggling to comprehend what had just happened to me. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to find myself thrust into an isekai story like the ones I had read about.
"But... do... do I have some special powers?" I asked the goddess, my eyes filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety.
"I shall bestow upon thee a singular power for thy use, for thy power is of the void."
"The void?" I said, my eyes widening with excitement.
"However, thou must wield this power with sincerity. Shouldst thou use it for darkness, I shall reclaim it."
"I understand," I whispered, feeling the weight of her words.
The goddess moved her hand in a graceful, intricate pattern, her fingers weaving through the air with an elegance that was both mesmerizing and otherworldly. Slowly, a sphere materialized before her, shimmering with an ominous darkness. The sphere pulsed as if it had a life of its own, and then, with a serene smile, she extended it toward me.
With a mix of awe and trepidation, I reached out, my hand trembling slightly as I grasped the sphere. The moment my fingers made contact, the dark sphere cracked, its surface shattering into countless fragments that glimmered briefly before being drawn into my body like wisps of smoke.
A surge of power coursed through me, ancient and potent, filling every fiber of my being. I gasped, feeling both exhilaration and fear.
"This is the power of the void, O Chosen One," the goddess intoned, her voice resonating with the cadence of an ancient language, each word echoing with the wisdom of millennia.
"W-What is this power?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, the sensation of the void still tingling within me.
"It is the power to erase one's existence," she explained, her eyes gazing deeply into mine, as if piercing through to my very soul.
"What?" I stammered, disbelief mingling with curiosity. "So... I can annihilate any existence?"
"Verily," she replied, her tone grave, yet serene. "Yet this power cometh with a single stipulation."
"What is it?" I asked, my curiosity piqued, though a hint of dread lingered.
"Thou mayst wield the void's power to annihilate only that which is weaker than thyself," the goddess revealed, her words heavy with the weight of ancient truth.
"I understand," I said, nodding slowly, the reality of her words settling within me.
"Go forth, O Chosen One," she commanded, her voice resonant with authority. "Enter the realm of Magia, and ascend to the zenith of strength."
As she spoke, a portal began to form beneath my feet, its edges shimmering with ethereal light. Slowly, it pulled me downward, drawing me toward the unknown.
"Wait!" I cried out, panic rising within me. "You need to explain why you chose me!"
But my words were met only with silence. The beautiful goddess merely smiled, her expression serene and enigmatic, as the portal consumed me, pulling me into the world beyond.
As I plunged into the abyss, the world around me distorted, stretching and twisting at a dizzying speed. The face of the beautiful goddess, once so close, began to fade, her features blurring as she receded into the distance until she vanished entirely from sight. My surroundings morphed into a swirling tunnel, the colors and shapes of reality blending into a chaotic whirl. Amidst the disorienting descent, I heard a strange, choking sound—a deep, resonant noise that echoed like the grinding of worlds colliding, as if the very fabric of existence was shifting around me.
And then, suddenly...
THUD!
I hit the ground hard and everything went black.
"Sir?"
A distant voice echoed through the haze of darkness.
"Sir!!"
The voice grew louder, more urgent, pulling me back from the void.
"Wha—?!" I blurted out as my eyes snapped open, quickly scanning my surroundings.
"Where am I?" I asked, my voice still groggy.
"Sir! Thank goodness you're awake... But how did you end up here?"
Her eyes were an enchanting shade of teal, large and expressive, framed by long, delicate lashes that accentuated their brilliance. Her skin was smooth and fair, with a gentle blush coloring her cheeks, giving her a warm, approachable aura. She had a small, graceful smile that radiated kindness, and there was a subtle, almost ethereal glow to her, making her seem like she belonged to another world entirely. As she gazed at me, her eyes were filled with empathy and a gentle curiosity, as if she genuinely cared about my well-being."I..." I hesitated, realizing I shouldn't mention the Goddess.
"Oh, I accidentally fell from that cliff over there," I said, as I pointed at the cliff behind the woman.
"Oh… I see", She replied as she look back at the cliff.
"Well, anyway, this isn't a safe place to linger. You need to return to the village first, then continue whatever it is you were doing," she said, her voice gentle yet firm.
"Okay," I replied, still a bit dazed by everything that had happened.
She reached out to help me up, her touch soft yet steady. With her support, I managed to stand, and together we began making our way toward the village.
As we walked, my mind raced. I couldn't believe it—Isekai was real, and I actually had a powerful ability... Despite the surrealness of it all, I knew one thing for sure: this was my life now, in a world completely new to me.
