Time lost all meaning as Peter lay there, paralyzed with fear. He didn't know how long he stayed under the bed, shaking and crying, but at some point, exhaustion claimed him.

When he awoke, the morning light was streaming through the windows, and the house was silent once again. But the terror of the night before lingered in the air, and Peter knew that whatever had visited him in the darkness was still out there, waiting.

The events of the night played over and over in his mind, the memories as vivid as if they were still happening. Peter slowly got up, his body stiff and aching. He looked around the room, half expecting to see those glowing red eyes staring back at him from the shadows. But there was nothing—just the cold, empty house, as silent and lonely as ever.

But Peter knew the truth. He wasn't alone, and he would never be alone in that house again
