Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6,,

With her notebook opened beside her on the glass table, Reign carefully wrote down the figures, it all was under some funny title, it was her morning sales, she was recording.

Impartially, Reign compared her figures to the previous records, she had done better I'm her first shift. Her records were way better than the previous morning. She patted her back with a goofy smile on her face." This is cool," She murmured as she checked her watch.

Standing, she checked herself on the window's glass. "Rainbow " She pronounced with pained grimace,"I look confused, instead of classy".

It did not at all seem fair that the other girls who were 21, should look so wonderful with unplaited hair while she looked like a lunatic, wait why were her eyes ? She choked back tears. She regretted again the streak of vanity that had caused her to unplait her braids, without them she felt her confidence level being at the negatives. "This weekend", she concluded. Her gaze shifted to the watch on her hand and Reign shook off her misery and hastily headed out.

The first hour at the farm went well enough but it took a sudden turn to the worse when she was done receiving instructions from the little office and stepped out. The rest of the workers were having tea, they all stopped and stared, and then whispers.

For the first time that day Reign wished the whispers were about the red bandana, her jaw had dropped as soon as she saw her coworkers. She was eagerly anticipating the prospect of finally meeting girls or boys her own age but eyes final scan lead her to replay what she had just be told a few minutes ago, in the office. This people were old enough to be her mother's parents, that alone was enough to make her forget about the pain her hair had been causing her all morning.

Just as Reign was despairing of ever having a friend here when she turned to her right, standing in a doorway with his hand thrust in his coverall's pocket, was a man at least 6 feet, on his head a black Cape that hide most part of his face, there he stood silently, idly studying the older people. Reign wondered how Neema would describe him, "Madeskie this guy is fire fire" . His features couldn't be hide by the green coveralls. They looked like they had been chiselled out of granite by some sculptor, "His genes damn..or probably this guy does all the farm work by himself and I'd bet he takes all the best produces for himself too" Reign marvelled silently. From distance she could see his iron jaw, he did look determined, she could tell his complexion was light and that left some bitterness in her mouth. Judging from the colour of his coveralls and his arrogant, proud pose she knew he was no regular worker and didn't he look young? She peered.

At that moment, Martha the lady she was with in the office tapped her shoulders. Tearing her glance from the man she followed the lady.

Speaking quickly so that she could finish before they joined the other group, Reign asked. "Who is that man, the one who has isolated himself?"

Martha burst of laughter did more than attracting attention and Reign was afraid of facing the guy, Martha leaned closer to her and thankfully whispered. " He is Martin, the manager and he is isolated but people here not the other way "

Puzzled by not only the laughing look but Martha explanation as well, Reign asked " Is it the normal boss and employer beefs?". "I'll tell you everything, " She whispered some more as they joined the rest.

Martha loud greetings made everyone within hearing turn and stare, including Martin. His eyes were so bright, and his face was surreal, Reign gaped. His chin was square, his nose straight, the iron jaw . "Hey everyone, this is Reign. She is young and beautiful so I demand you respect her." She boomed and Reign flinched in embarrassment. She waited until the murmur that had begun died, and went on blabbering and everyone was in motion, waving, shaking and talking to Reign.

Reign did a fast count, there were sixteen people in the group. Paralysed from the sudden attention, she remained where she was standing just flowing. Ignoring Martha's weird explanation about Martin isolation the group seemed friendly towards her. Then she turned, Martin was still standing at the doorway, completely alone as if he didn't care about the commotion ahead.
