"Why did you decide that what I said was a lie?" Maya asked, looking devastated. "What do you know about me?"
Sharx looked at Maya's eyes sharply and firmly, trying to understand what intent lay behind her expression. For someone notorious for her obsession with him, as well as who had so far never approached him directly, Maya Maureen's confession sounded dry.
The thought of this made Sharx chuckle, laughing at himself.
"What did I just think of? How can someone like me judge what is sincerity?"
His stomach churned as he realized that in the back of his mind, he compared Hazel and Maya's love confessions and decided that Hazel's love confession sounded more sincere. He could have laughed at his own stupidity for a long time if not for Derrick's gaze.
"What are you two doing? A soap opera?" Derrick's forehead wrinkled and didn't go down for the few moments he was there.
"Ah, you're still here."
