He's not ugly, not at all. He's 32 years old, 1.93m, light brown curly hair, angular features with a sharp jaw, forest dark green hooded eyes, thin lips, wide shoulders, and a toned but slimmer body. However he has the most annoying Spanish accent in the world, which he got from his Spanish mother, and he became uncle Heath's secretary when I was 18, he was 23, and we never got along. There's something about him that I don't like.
That something being the fact that the dude is helpless, has no skills in fighting, doesn't know how to use a freaking gun, and I could break him in a second. I hate physically weak people. My snarky comments are also the reason why he began to go to the gym two years ago, but he's still slim.
Konrad Hudson would have to be born again to beat me in a fight.
"Puta loca," [crazy bitch], he cursed.
"Küss meinen Arsch, sohn einer Hündin!" [Kiss my arse, son of a bitch], I cursed in German. "Porque tu madre es la puta, no yo!" [Because your mother is the slut, not me], I added in Spanish, knowing he is fluent in both. "You should watch out before talking like that with someone who could slice you in half, Huddy."
"You think I'm not training either?" The dumbarse snapped.
"Wanna try me now?" I grinned challengingly. "Shall I show you again how you will never be anywhere as deadly as me? I've been training since I was old enough to fucking walk, I'm a rank S in the Obsidian secret division, and my body count is higher than the years you've lived in this earth. One should know to pick their fights, do you wanna try me, perra?" [bitch] also in Spanish.
"One day, I will win in a physical fight against you," he promised.
"Yay, I can't wait. Ping me when that day comes. If I'm alive by then," I mocked again. "You have my agent contact."
"Then you better not die until that comes," he said under his breath.
"Are you still single, lil raven?" Harriet asked out of nowhere.
I arched my eyebrows confused, "My nastiness pushes them away. So, yes, I'm still single. Why?"
She grinned mischievously, "Just curious. Thanks for the presents."
"You have Phoenix to thank for that, Fireheart," she may not be an agent, but she has a codename since she began dating him publicly. It helps keeping her and their private life safe. "I just happen to have some fashion ties that helped me get it all for you."
That put a proud smug on his face, "Anything for you, baby girl." Well, the jerk must already be used to them calling each other that, as his secretary, so no wonder they are not containing themselves in front of the two of us. "Come, leave the agents to their jobs, let's get back to where we left off, before the brat interrupted us."
"Yes, daddy," she crossed arms with him and winked at me over her shoulders, charmingly. "When you're over with the mission, let's go out and have some tea and go shopping, lil raven."
"I'll" hate "love that," it was all I said before they closed the double doors behind them, locking it this time, and finally, as they were out of sight, I allowed myself to physically cringe. "Ew, ew, ew."
Sigh, "They can be a but overly disturbing," the jerk groaned.
I glared at him, he glared back, "Does this happens often?"
"The libidinous display of their daddy kink?" He scoffed. "Yes."
"Must be tough to be their secretary then," because he always ends up doing Harriet's bindings too. He's a year older than her, but she treats him like a child, just like she does me, all because she's married to a man that could be our grandpa.
"At least I don't need to kill anyone," he countered and we walked out of their hallway, as the moans began to be loud enough for us to hear it. "Aren't you haunted or some shite?"
"Some shite," I pressed the button for the lift. "Why is it that you're following me, arsehole?" I glared at him when he followed me inside it.
"I'm not following you, dumbarse," he snapped. "I'm going down. I'm not a voyeur, I don't stay here listening to them fucking each other like rabbits, ugh. And what? Do you think I just stand around doing nothing?"
"Don't you?" I provoked him.
"Absolutely not, you bloody wanker. Ugh, you're as infuriating as always. It's been almost 10 years, and you are still the same condescending, arrogant, obnoxious, self-centered, psycho brat as you were when we met!"
"You forgot to add nasty, bossy, immoral, and bitchy," I purred.
He gasped, "Do you have no sense of preservation at all?"
"Sense of preservation? What's that?" I joked. "In my field of work, our initiation mission is to loose all of that and to remold out morals to what is better to conceal our discrepant actions, Huddy. You can't kill somebody, keep that intact, and go one with your life. I had to have balls to break that part of me myself, in order to go up the ranks on the Obsidian division, the most ruthless one out of the five. I don't expect you to understand, you're a normal civilian with an office work, who doesn't need to put his life on the line for any of this. I did what I had to do, to get what I wanted."
"All because of that secret mission?" He gasped in dismay.
"Yes," I snapped. "I promised myself, and my birth parents that I would do whatever it took to get this mission. I had to be of at least rank S in the Obsidian division to request it, so I became what I needed."
"And you will still do it, even though the Beast is involved?"
I rolled my eyes, "No one will stop me. If he gets in my way, I'll do all I can to deal with the chaos he'll bring with himself. But for now, I will not let that happen. Besides, I don't own you satisfaction. I have one purpose, and now that I got my hands on the key to guide me to what I want, nothing will stop me. Definitely not a bloody psychopath who thinks he needs this mission more than I do. I don't give a shite if he's stronger than me, deadlier, and more dangerous or whatever. Humans like me tend to evolve in the face of a force stronger than ours, I'll just fight him."
"That will get you killed," he growled. "Believe me, I've seen that man, he was with that stupid mask, but I've seen him. He is in a whole other league compared to you, Countess. That freak gives me the creeps, it felt like I was facing death itself, and even the boss was on guard around the Beast, and he jokes around you."
Because we are intimate and his my Godfather. "I don't care. He can't be worse than what I'll be facing to be successful on this mission."
"If he doesn't kill you before that!"
"Phoenix said he ain't an enemy," I snapped at him.
"But he ain't a friend or an ally. And if you are in the way of this bloody cursed mission he also wants, you really think that freak will care? That he won't kill you, reap you to pieces, and bury your remains in a wood somewhere no one will ever find you? He's the worse, can't you see it?"
"Then I'll become worse than him to rival him if I need to!"
"Your stubbornness will get you killed," he groaned.
"If I didn't know better, I would think you're worried about me and my safety, Huddy!" I glared at him again and he clenched his jaw. "If I die, than I'll die glad knowing I did my best for something I believed in, I'll die fighting. Could you say the same for yourself or will you keep letting your fear of death sabotage your life?"
"I'm not a physical agent, I work with my brains!"
"So do I," I scoffed. "I'm multifunctional, and a prodigy genius, or have you not seen the result of my tests to get into MI6 when I was 17?" When he said nothing, I rolled my eyes, staring a the double doors of the lift taking us from up the 50th floor to the ground floor.
"You're moved by a physical fighting spirit," is that a thing?
"Whatever, Huddy, your excuses mean nothing to me."
"I'm not using any excuses?" Is he stupid?
"DeNile is a river in Egypt, Huddy," I mocked as the doors opened again, and all eyes came to us.
"The red and the black wig suited you more than the turquoise!"
I frowned, "What?" I gasped at his random comment.
"What, what? Are you deaf now?" He scoffed as if he was feeling amazing with himself and his comment.
"Whatever, have better things to do than waste my time with the likes of you!" Rolling my eyes, I strode out of the huge hall, feeling eyes watching me as I walk by, almost able to taste their fear in my tongue. As soon as I stepped out, I stared at the clean sky, then headed to my car and left the headquarters, putting the file on the passenger seat with my bag.
