Chapter 87 - Chapter 73: Fractured Dreams

Vagan dashed through the dense, foggy streets, her heart pounding as she reached the shore. She searched for the ship, expecting to see it anchored nearby, but there was nothing. Not even the faintest sign of their vessel. She scanned the horizon, a rising sense of unease crawling up her spine.

"What's going on here?" she whispered, her breath clouding in the chilly air. She took a moment to think, her eyes narrowing as she glanced around the eerie landscape. "Something is definitely wrong with this island…"

The scene shifts to the cold, dim jail cell where Pluto and Blue sat, trapped. Blue paced in frustration, casting occasional glances at the barred window above. "How are we supposed to get out of here?"

Pluto, still calm, settled onto the cold concrete floor. "Well, you heard him, didn't you? We start to absorb." He closed his eyes, his breathing steadying as he seemed to reach within himself, trying to feel something—anything—that could be harnessed.

Blue rolled his eyes. "That'll never work."

Pluto didn't respond, his focus unwavering. They sat in silence until Aluca, in the neighboring cell, broke it with a gentle voice.

"Blue… do you have any dreams?"

Blue fell silent, looking away as if hesitant to answer. After a moment, he muttered, "I want to find my mom."

The quiet between them grew heavy, each of them lost in their own thoughts. Aluca, his voice soft and distant, spoke again. "You know… my dream was to be a father. But I guess… fate had something else planned."

There was a melancholy in Aluca's words, a sense of acceptance mixed with regret. He started to sing, his voice low and tinged with sorrow, a haunting melody that filled the damp prison walls, seeping into every corner.

As the song drifted around him, Pluto continued to sit in quiet concentration, absorbing the stillness. Blue watched, his face shadowed, as the sad tune settled into the background, his own heart heavy with his lost dreams.
