Morin walked briskly on foot, flanked by other human-fused soldiers, as they neared the city of Anoka. His eyes scanned the path ahead, a mixture of determination and unease evident on his face. Suddenly, his communicator buzzed, and Dorothy's voice came through.
"Morin," she began, her tone brisk, "your mission has changed."
"Yes?" Morin responded, his heart pounding slightly.
"You are to take Blue and Pluto to the port. There, they will get on a ship that Luchos has made."
Morin frowned. "Might I ask why?"
"The Bearu is on to me," Dorothy explained, her voice carrying a weight of urgency. "I fear they are going to destroy this small continent of ours. I need you to make sure they get there safely, including yourself. Morin, you are my masterpiece. Carry out this final order I am giving you and make sure you survive."
"And what about you?" Morin asked, concern lacing his words.
"There's no need to worry about me," Dorothy replied. "Just get there safe, Morin."
The call cut off abruptly, leaving Morin staring at the communicator in his hand. He looked up at the sky, a deep sadness crossing his features.
"What is this feeling?" he muttered to himself. Memories of his past, the torturous experiments, and the endless pain flashed through his mind. Yet, through it all, Dorothy had been there, a constant presence by his side.
"Okay, Dorothy," he said softly, his voice resolute. "And thank you."
As the ship drew closer to Anoka, Morin's expression hardened with determination, knowing the weight of the task ahead.
