Pluto continued to laugh maniacally, his voice echoing across the desolate area. The Humanfused soldiers stopped firing, their attention drawn to the unsettling sound. As the laughter subsided, Pluto's eyes locked onto the group, his pupils glowing with a vibrant blue intensity.
One of the Humanfused, trembling, pointed his gun at Pluto. In an instant, Pluto vanished and reappeared right in front of him, a chilling smile on his face. Before the soldier could react, the heads of the other Humanfused exploded simultaneously, a gruesome display of blood raining down on Pluto and the soldier.
"I'm sorry," the terrified soldier managed to say before his own head exploded.
From his hiding spot, Blue watched in horror, his mind racing. Shit, what the fuck did I just see?
Pluto stood amidst the carnage, blood dripping from his body, and called out, "Come out," his voice calm and unwavering.
Blue slowly emerged from his cover, raising a hand in a tentative wave. "Hey, I heard those Humanfused call you Pluto. Can I call you Pluto? And just so you know, my name's Blue."
Pluto began walking toward Blue, saying nothing.
"Listen man, I'm no longer angry about the snacks. It's cool," Blue said nervously, trying to defuse the tension.
As Pluto got closer, he detransformed, reverting to his normal state. Just as he reached Blue, Pluto's eyes rolled back, and he fainted, collapsing on top of Blue and falling asleep.
Blue sighed deeply, feeling the weight of Pluto's unconscious body. Rim appeared beside them, observing the scene. "It's the first time I've ever seen a human do that," she remarked.
Blue said nothing, lost in thought.
The scene shifted to Dorothy in Luchos's lab. They both watched the screen intently. Dorothy turned to Luchos, her expression stern. "I thought you said Vagan could survive against one of them, but she lost."
Luchos bowed his head. "I apologize. I forgot that Pluto had a Phase 2."
Dorothy straightened up and called Morin. "How long until you get to Vagan's location?" she demanded.
Morin's voice crackled over the intercom. "We will likely reach there in three months."
"Vagan has been killed by Pluto," Dorothy said bluntly.
There was silence on the other end before Morin replied, "Understood."
"Do not disappoint me, Morin," Dorothy continued, her voice cold. "This time, kill them both for good."
The chapter ended with Dorothy staring at the screen, her eyes filled with determination and anger.
