Chapter 12 - Worried Hero/Teacher

"Kid?" Oh, God. Why did he have to wake up! I didn't want him awake right now! I'd been so silent-oh....nevermind, he'd probably heard me hurling. "Are you alright in there?" I stood up, and fixed myself in the mirror quickly. "Yeah, I'm good. Just had to use the restroom." It was silent for a minute. Which left me to wonder if he had actually left, or if he was taking a minute to contemplate this. "I'm coming in, Kenji." Wait-he used my last name. What did that mean? Before I could blink, the door opened quickly, and Easerhead-dressed in dark pajamas now-studied me carefully and intensly. I appeared as unaffected as I could. I didn't need him knowing so many things about me just yet. I'd already felt uncomfortable sharing that one part of my past. I couldn't tell him about the gruesome night terrors. Not right now. No way. "Hm...are you sure you're alright? You look a bit...shaken. Not to mention a little pale, too. Are you sick?" He asked, a small frown on his face. He raised his hand, and I instinctively flinched and tensed, which caused him to pause halfway. I thought he was going to pull his hand back, but was wrong. He placed it on my forehead, making sure to move my hair up a little, and his touch...it was gentle. Soft. Full of care. With no bad intentions behind it. However, I was still tense, just waiting for him to finish. "Well, you don't seem to have a fever..." He spoke up after a few minutes, but didn't take his hand away yet. Before I could try to excuse myself, he ran his hand through my hair, and I didn't know what to do. All I could focus on was how comforting that touch was, how understanding he seemed to be. For a minute, he kept running his hand through my hair gently, and he stared into my eyes. I could see his were full of concern, of empathy, and of worry. He stayed silent before he spoke up softly, asking something I had feared would come since he'd first laid eyes on me. "Who else hurt you, kid?"
