As Long Ao went to the Black Turtle Mountain, Lin Fu, who was practicing, stopped and looked up, a glint in his eyes.
He heard the Vermillion group talking in their courtyard about the sudden change in the secret realm, but Lin Fu didn't care about that. He cared about something else. Looking at the spot where Long Ao was seconds before, Lin Fu's senses were on high alert.
But then he returned to his training. The sense of danger had faded, but that only meant it was hiding deeper. Survival was everything. Living long was everything. He would achieve it—no matter how much blood he had to spill. He didn't kill for no reason, but for the thrill. Killing meant he was alive; it gave him purpose. To kill, he had to live. And that's why he put up with these stupid trials.
Fang Tian stood in the center of the Black Turtle group. All of them were training, pushing their bodies to the limit.
Fang Tian, standing ten foot nine, was the tallest among his team members, the competition was coming in a couple of weeks. He needed to prepare.
Looking at one of his teammates who challenged his authority not long ago, now begging under his foot, Fang Tian didn't care. He was a giant descendant. He was no more human than a hybrid in their eyes.
A slave. His people were treated like slaves, sold, raped, tortured, experimented on, fed to blood Gu. All Fang Tian had known was to submit and listen, but right now, right here, those humans that hurt his kind were listening to him, beneath his very foot.
"I command, you listen ," Fang Tian spoke in his broken human language.
All the Black Turle team looked at him.
There was no disgust in their eyes, unlike at the Wang clan, where everywhere he went, he would be looked down on by those who had to stare up at him. All his life, he felt small, but now, seeing fear in the strong, fear of being stepped on, this was what Fang Tian wanted to see and feel, when looking in their eyes.
If he wanted to keep feeling like this, he needed to pass the trials.
Long Ao was watching from afar as always. He didn't frown or get mad at such a scene.
This giant had every right to be mad at humankind, the myriad races now feared the human races after millions of years of war.
Humans could reproduce faster than most races. Only some beast races had a chance to keep up with how fast humans could make more of themselves.
Like the spider demon race or the seahorse race, but humans not only had quantity, they also had quality.
The bloody man under Fang Tian's foot was still moving, tears in his eyes. But also hate.
"I should be the leader! Everyone agrees—why should a hybrid, a half-blooded slave, lead us? We only followed you because you were an easy target. Mankind won't bow to a lowly half-blood. We're the result of countless generations, the blood and sweat of human warriors. We won't be stepped on by the likes of you."
Some people watching nodded, agreeing a bit. The challenger had a point.
No matter how strong a hybrid giant might be, from the moment they were born and sold as slaves, they were trained to obey humans.
Most people on the island weren't good at cultivating and were already looked down on by their families, but they'd never let a slave give them orders. Being disrespected by another human was hard enough, but a half-human? That was an insult they'd never forget.
Fang Tian had heard enough. "Born high, die low? I must show my strength!" he roared, throwing a powerful punch. It missed the target's head by inches but hit the ground beside them so hard that the mountain shook.
The ground was shaking.
Long Ao smirked at this. This Fang Tian had the highest battle strength among all the contestants.
His experience and cleverness were as good as Wang Hao's. His attack power was the strongest on the island besides Madonna Coi and Long Ao. And his talent for understanding the manuals was at least second to Lin Fu.
He was clearly the strongest.
Fang Tian looked down at the scared challenger on the ground, speechless at his ruthlessness.
This was a message to any other challenger who wanted to fight him.
This was his answer to those that opposed his identity.Fang Tian looked emotionless staring into the challenger eyes, for a moment, nobody voiced their opinion nor did they make a sound, the situation was under fang tian control.
"Don't stop training," Fang Tian said.
As he left the command, all the others continued training the Black Turtle manuals, which had three stances.
When Fang Tian punched the ground, he didn't use any stance. That was his pure strength.
That's why the watchers were scared. What if he used one of the stances? How could anyone survive?
Unlike the other mountains, the Black Turtle temple moutian had a special training ground behind the jagged rocks, with a waterfall. This was where Fang Tian was headed. This was his training ground.
As he stepped under the waterfall, the pressure would crush any other contestant who dared to enter it. Yet, even with soaked robes and hair, and the pressure of a bare waterfall crushing against his skull and shoulders, Fang Tian didn't falter.
He hadn't given up. Wanting to free his people, to save his people, he needed power. But Gu masters would never allow a slave to have such power. So Fang Tian, for a long time, gave up on that dream, on that hope. For years, he had lost his spark, lost his reason.
But maybe in this trial, he would find that spark. He would find his reason.
He sat cross-legged, bearing the pressure.
Even though he felt pain at this point, he didn't voice his pain. Why would he? Nobody would listen to a slave's cries for hope, cries of agony. To them, humans just thought his cries were annoying.
