Chapter 93 - Bite mark

After Lucian closed the door, Ave stood where she was, staring at the closed door with his last words swirling around her mind. He had told her to try not to act like herself in front of the guests, which meant she had to be careful until everything was over, or she might get herself killed before achieving anything here.

Sighing, Ave walked back towards the bed and sat down on the same spot Lucian had when he put on his shoes, and even though he wasn't there, his scent still lingered in the air, causing her body to tingle. She ran her fingers against the pillow he'd used, which still looked creased. Then, as if realizing what she was doing, she abruptly retrieved her hand and cursed at herself.
