Minutes later, Ave paced around outside the corridor of Lucian's chamber, worried and anxious for him. She could still recall the blood that had oozed out of his arm when the sword was pulled out and how his face had hardened instead of showing any signs of pain. He hadn't even winced one bit when he was bleeding so much that she'd felt like passing out at the thought of the pain he must have been in.
She had rushed to him in a flash and grabbed his arm to try to stop the bleeding with her handkerchief. However, Lucian had jerked away from her and gritted his teeth in irritation when she tried to approach him again. He had warned dangerously, "Haven't I warned you to stay away from me? Come any closer, and I'll rip you apart."
"It's not my fault that you let your guard down for a moment," she'd said defensively, but her words only made him look angrier.
