Lucian walked into their room after settling some important matters. He was surprised that Ave didn't wait for him in the hall. With how she had looked unwilling to let him go with the princess of Nazia, he had expected she would be waiting for his return, but she had returned to the room. He would have been disappointed that her jealousy wasn't that deep had he not thought that it was good she'd returned to the room, and he hoped she would be asleep when he got there to spare him from forcing himself to sleep quickly like this afternoon to avoid her and her beckoning scent that called to him.
Expecting to find her sleeping as he'd purposely stayed in the hall to make sure she would have been asleep before his return, he pushed the door open slowly and closed it behind him gently, but the moment he turned around, he froze in his tracks at the sight that welcomed him inside the room.
