The masked man was nervous, but he tried to play it off. "Ah, so you defeated my bodyguard with such ease. Both Mike Hunt and Dixie Normous are very powerful aether class keepers. I see your no normal bounty hunter. Plus, you still haven't exited your beast transformation. Which means you must be powerful. As a reward for your performance, I shall grant you my name. I am Justin Herass."
The one infuriated Alice tries to hold back a laugh. She then shook her head, snapping back to reality. "Unlike those two, you have an active skill. I know what it is."
"Oh, do you know."
"It's called game master. It relies on that deck of cards you have. You throw out a random card and depending on which card it is, it can face a random effect between 1 and 14. Some are weak to where they do nothing, and others are strong enough to where they can wipe out countries with a single deal."
"You know your stuff, girl. Yes, my skill is entirely based on luck. Isn't it exciting! Don't you love the thrill of gambling?!"
"I mean... my boyfriend got me into waifu gacha games a little while ago... Why am I talking with you? You're scared, aren't you?"
"..."
"You started up a conversation with me to stall for time. Even those names you gave me... no one is named that. How stupid do you think I am? I can tell you're trying to formulate an escape plan inside your head as you attempt to waste time. Well, I'm not interested in that."
Alice began walking towards the man. He began to sweat under his mask, but then, he started to chuckle and took out a hand of cards. "Seems you want to fight. Alright then. Let's play."
The leader planted his feet, thrusting his hands forward as a massive wave of blue fire surged toward Alice. Inside the fire were 5s of spaces. Alice jumped over the wave, realizing how powerful it was. The wave slammed against the wall, causing a massive crater.
"Impressive." said Alice while looking at the crater. "I thought you were pathetic and this was gonna be easy, but I suppose not. Looks like my friends will have to wait 30 minutes instead of 25."
"You have quite the tone on you, girl."
"So I've been told."
Alice reached her hands out. On one hand, she fired a null ball and on the other, she fired a death ball. The null ball fired straight forward, nearly taking the man's head off. But the death mist ball was a lot slower and easier to dodge for the man.
Alice scoffed. "Damn it." Alice thought to herself. "Even after a year, I still can't use this thing properly." In my head, against the red eyes version of me, I used it fine, but now, it's like I'm back to square one. I've always known how to use null; it just came naturally. But this death thing... what am I doing wrong? No, better question. What did I do right in the fight against myself?"
The man threw two 4 of clubs at Alice. On impact, they both exploded, knocking her to the side and making her roll. However, she landed on her feet and didn't even have a scratch on her. The man began to get even more nervous and started throwing out cards rapidly.
Alice dodged the cards with ease. Some froze anything they touched, some copied her null ability, some froze time on objects, and some just instantly incinerator objects in the room. It really was an entirely luck-based skill. Risky, but high reward.
Alice got closer and tried to bash his head in with the spiked ball on her scepter, but the man ducked under it and slid under her arm. He twisted and threw a card at her back, making her get struck with a massive thunder from above that completely destroyed the ceiling.
Still, even after that, Alice wasn't wounded. She looked down at her arms and thought to herself again, "So much power... If Yoshi were here, or even Sybil, their battle instinct would kill this guy in seconds. But I'm not as good or as experienced of a fighter as either of the two of them are. As for this guy..." Alice fired several null shots at him, but she dodged them and threw 3 kings of hearts into the air, which created a mini black hole that began to suck in the entire surrounding area. "I was stronger and faster than him. Not to mention, tough enough to survive any attack he throws at me. The problem is he is those cards. I can't risk getting hit by a bad one, especially since I don't know what most do... So, I just need to get in close... I can manage that."
Instead of fighting, Alice let her get sucked into the sky by the black hole. She then engulfs her scepter with null energy and nullifies the black hole, wiping it from existence.
"N-No... how did you."
Alice gracefully landed in front of the man, inches away from his face. "I like to think I'm pretty ingenuitive when it comes to fighting, though I did take a risk there. I didn't realize I was strong enough to destroy black holes."
"You monster..."
Alice looked down on him with pierce gold eyes of fury. "I'm the monster?! You are the reason my Yoshi got hurt. All that pain you caused wouldn't have happened if that deal never happened. I plan to pay it back 10 fold. Don't worry, you're not the only one. Once I get my hands on Star, he'll wish he was dead... but as for you."
As Alice cornered the leader of Derozues, she felt an intimidating, yet familiar presence. She turned around to see a static, glitch computer screen. Moments later, familiar-looking black tendrils shot out of the screen and latched onto her. They instantly pulled her into the computer and into the digital world.
She entered a place that looked to be YouTube. She crashed onto the 2D floor and a chill went down her spine. When she looked up, she saw him; Daemon.
