A few days after Wataru acquired his food safety certification, he set his sights on opening a café. Operating a business would allow him to sell items like sugar, coffee, baking powder, cookies, and chocolates imported from the other world. It would also serve as a base for selling potions more discreetly.
"I've been using rental studios and spaces so far, but it's much better to have a permanent base."
Of course, operating from a fixed location came with a trade-off in anonymity. Ideally, Wataru wanted to find a fully-equipped, pre-owned café near his house and the local shrine. Such a property would cut down on initial costs, as the appliances and interior could often be used as-is. His search showed listings ranging from 150,000 to 500,000 yen per month, depending on the area's prestige.
