Chapter 31 - humiliation

As the conversation between Lucian and Arthur continued, a familiar ding echoed in Lucian's mind.

Ding!

[Congratulations! You have completed the mission: Say yes to joining Nightshade Academy.]

[Reward: System functions unlocked: System Storage, System Shop, and 10,000 Shop Points.]

Lucian's heart skipped a beat. Finally, he thought, trying not to let his excitement show on his face. He had been waiting for this moment.

"System, open the shop and explain these new functions to me," Lucian said internally, eager to dive into what he had unlocked.

[System Storage: This function allows you to store any item, only non-living, in an infinite space. You can access your inventory at any time, as long as the item you can carry it with your strength.]

[System Shop: The shop offers a wide array of items from across the multiverse knowledge, skills, weapons, magic spells, potions, and more. All you need is the corresponding amount of Shop Points to purchase them. You currently have 10,000 points.]

Lucian swallowed hard, feeling his pulse quicken. The possibilities were endless knowledge, power, everything he needed to stop being the weak, powerless boy everyone looked down on. This... this is it. This is my start.

But before he could delve deeper into the system's offerings, Arthur's voice pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Hey, kid. Why do you keep zoning out like that? You look like you're in a trance," Arthur remarked, raising an eyebrow, his tone still somewhat playful but clearly noticing Lucian's odd behavior.

Lucian quickly shook his head, forcing a grin. "Oh, nothing, sir. I'm just… excited about joining the academy." That should work, Lucian thought, mentally shelving his curiosity about the system for now. He couldn't afford to raise any suspicion not when people like Arthur were watching him so closely.

Arthur narrowed his eyes slightly, studying him, but then simply shrugged it off. "Well, I've got something for you before we head out."

Lucian blinked in surprise. "Something for me?"

Arthur's usual laid-back demeanor shifted. His face became serious, the air around him growing a little heavier. "It's from your mother. I got it as a reward after doing her a favor." There was a pause. "It's not something small."

The mention of his mother made Lucian's heart tighten, and his throat went dry. His lips curled in a grimace before he shook his head violently. "No. I don't want anything from her. Not now, not ever."

Arthur's expression didn't waver. The lighthearted, big-brother aura he usually radiated vanished. In its place, an oppressive force washed over Lucian, making the air feel thick and suffocating. Arthur's eyes bore into him, unrelenting. "It's not a request this time, Lucian. It's an order."

suddenly a strong heavy pressure descended on Lucian making his hard to even breath...it felt like as whole mountain was pressing on him he couldn't even stand still his body shaking by every moment

no not now not even he screamed in his mind trying to stand still fight with it but not even a chance he could feel that Arthur could make him kneel anything he wants...its like he is playing with him

Lucian's heart pounded in his chest. Why is he doing this? Why humiliate me like this? A wave of fury surged inside him, threatening to burst out. But he swallowed it down, clenching his fists so tightly his nails dug into his palms. One day... Lucian's thoughts darkened, a promise to himself forming in the depths of his mind. One day, I'll make him see. I'll make everyone see.

He stared back at Arthur, his eyes burning with barely restrained anger and frustration. Just wait. You'll all pay for looking down on me. But he remained silent, knowing now was not the time to reveal the hatred swirling inside him. He was still too weak, a mere insect to men like Arthur.

Arthur raised an eyebrow, clearly sensing Lucian's inner turmoil. "You've got quite the fire in your eyes there, kid. I like that," he said, though he eased up on the pressure, his tone softening as if he realized he had pushed too far.

Endeavor, sitting on the sidelines, suddenly snapped, his voice filled with frustration. "Arthur! Didn't I tell you to control yourself? This isn't a joke." He stood up, glaring at Arthur, then glanced at Lucian, who was still standing there with his fists clenched and eyes blazing.

"Do you remember what happened last time you pressured someone like this?" Endeavor growled, reminding Arthur of a past incident. "This isn't how we should be handling this. Not this boy please."

Aria, who had remained silent up until now, kept her gaze locked on Lucian. She didn't speak, but the intensity of her eyes said enough. She could see it the raw anger, the frustration, the humiliation but she didn't said anything just kept looking at it

Arthur scratched his head, his posture deflating. "Ah, yeah. Sorry, kid. I didn't mean to get so serious," he said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. "I just wanted you to understand how important this is."

Important? Lucian wanted to laugh. Does he really think this is a joke? His fists remained clenched, his body tense as he struggled to hold in the venomous words threatening to spill from his lips. One day, I'll make sure you see how important it is when someone like me rises above.

Arthur seemed to sense the tension but, in his usual way, tried to brush it off with a laugh. "Alright, alright. Don't take it to heart. We're heading to the academy, and believe me, you're going to love it there."

Lucian said nothing, still simmering beneath the surface, but nodded mechanically. The fire in his eyes had dimmed for now, but it was far from extinguished. Inside, he was making plans. He had been humiliated, crushed, and looked down upon his whole life. But things were changing. He had the system now, and it would be his key to rising above them all.

Lucian's mind was already spinning with possibilities. His grip on his emotions tightened. Just wait. I won't always be the weak one.

Endeavor and Aria exchanged glances. They both knew it. Arthur had made a mistake again

But for now, they sat in silence, each of them wondering what would come next.

okk boy dont cry like a kid now accept it Arthur like nothing had happened said to Lucian
