"Woof woof!"
An excited little friend managed to jump up onto the bed, waking the couple. He began licking Alexander's shoulder, causing the duke's eyes to widen. He shook his head and laughed. "Aww, I thought that was you, darling," he said, grinning down at Corina.
The dog jumped off the bed and ran out of the room. The two of them could hear the puppy running around. Corina giggled. "He must be an early riser."
Alexander briefly kissed his wife and stroked her cheek. "Thank you for last night."
Corina shyly nodded and wrapped her arms around him. "If I don't let go, you can't leave," she said with a smug grin.
"True," he replied. "Though my father gets terribly frightening when things don't go properly. I wouldn't recommend convincing me to skip out on the meeting."
"I know," Corina pouted while she stared into her husband's eyes. "I guess we should get dressed."
