"Wow, Queen Amelia sounds like a monster," Helga said with wide eyes after Corina finished explaining her upbringing. "Who does something so evil?"
"Mama is just understanding. I'm sure she has her reasons." Corina did her best to justify her mother's actions, but deep down realized there wasn't any excuse.
"I can't believe you didn't know the difference," Helga commented. "You were abused by your mother."
"But Alexander is gentle and kind. He accepted me without hesitation."
Helga grinned ear-to-ear, "Yes, and he can put up a fight on your behalf if you're ever in danger. He can be a real savage, just like his father."
"A savage?"
"Mmhm," Helga grinned. "Though, he also is an idiot."
"Will you tell me more about him?" Corina asked. "Anything. I want to know everything. He previously shared with me how he intervened to protect you from the taunts of little boys. That was sweet of him."
