When Corina opened her eyes early in the morning, she noticed Orion had already left. She sighed with relief and turned to look at a sleeping Alexander, who was drooling on the pillow. She figured she would just quietly relax in the bed until he woke up. She tugged the covers up to her neck and took a deep, relaxed breath. Her eyes gazed at the ceiling as she focused on the pattern.
"Why do all ceilings here look like chickens walked over wet paint?" She whispered the question to herself.
"Because we had chickens design the ceilings in all of Luminairea," Alexander replied to her question as his eyes slowly opened. "They're wonderful architects."
Corina laughed. She moved closer to him, immediately working to unbutton his shirt the rest of the way. She then placed her palms firmly against his exposed chest.
"Already?" Alexander smirked and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close.
"Well, Orion was in the way last night."
