Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Fall of the God of Astral

In the immensity of the cosmic space, in which time moved like the river and the stars murmured about the creation of the universe, the God of Astral was at the edge of forgetfulness. Above him the sky was spinning galaxies of stars those were proofs of his power infinitely unlimited. The stars were his to command, the brightness in which was his own persona. But now this light was fading, and the universe was waiting for this moment holding its breath as if knowing it was just a matter of time.

The council of gods had convened in the great hall of the everlasting from where the walls themselves resonated with divine power. The Gods showed their respect towards the God of Astral but at the same time they feared and contempt him too because each one of them was a ruler of a certain part of the world. They had called him here to extol him not, to condemn, depose and maroon him into oblivion.

"Yun Zhen, God of Astral," The God of Time shouted from the top of his voice making the hall ring like a bell. ''Mr. Galleon, you are charged with conspiracy to govern the heavens; you wanted to ascend to a rank you do not deserve.''

Yun Zhen's eyes that used to sparkle like a night sky strewn with a thousand stars were now full of anger. He was upright and almost god-like in his physical structure clothed by what can only be described as a fabric of stardust. His voice when he did talk was hushed but at the same time threatening like the voice of the universe.

Yun Zhen answered in Chinese, repeating the English phrase he learned from the criminal suspects; "I plead innocence," he said, looking at the gods. "What I have attempted to do is to study the universe and maintain universal harmony including everything in it and I do not have ambitions of dominating, but safeguarding."

Alas, he never understood what was being said to him but remained insignificant throughout the whole conversation. The gods before long leaped into conclusion and they hardened their hearts with jealousy and they feared for their positions. They feared that Yun Zhen power was the strength that in the future would be able to overthrow all the others. And thus the council had turned against him and had become a farce of a tribunal against the man.

God of war who was a giant man dressed in an armor made of a core of a star that was about to explode. He looked deep into her eyes as if he was on a war and his tone was like the rumble of a thunderstorm. 'You are a liar, Yun Zhen,' said Xian Yu gleefully as he came closer to her, 'We have witnessed how you influenced the stars and try to dominate them; you want to rule the universe. Chu Yen said,'

The God of Time nodded his head silently and his face looked serious. "Your power is too great, Yun Zhen," Ouran growled out roughly, "You are a danger to everyone The universe cannot allow such an imbalance."

Yun Zhen closed his fists and his heart struck with anger together with despair and began to fast beat. He had dedicated all his being to knowledge of the heavens and the secrets at the end of time and beyond the grasp of deity and man. But now, knowing, power, that belonged to him, was in the process of being applied against him.

"You are too scared because you do not comprehend what is going on." Yun Zhen stated, his tone showing that he was moved. "You fear the unknown, and in your fear, you seek to destroy it. But know this: and without the stars, and without the power of the astral, the universe will end up being swallowed by darkness.

Some of the gods did not blink an eye showing neither mercy nor anger as their faces were of stone. "Wait," said the God of Time in a calm voice and all the people in the hall stopped their talking. 'Yun Zhen for the crime of aspiring to assume the position of the bringer of balance in the cosmos, you are now no longer a deity.' Yun Zhen would be cast away into the oblivion, her name would be erased out of the records, she would be just an ordinary person.

By those words a judgment was pronounced. Yun Zhen flared with pain as his divine energy was being extracted from him, the force that had flowed in his blood now left him as dry as the inside of a sand-buried mummy. He lay flat on the ground and began to pant heavily as the gods, the gods ignored him and washed their hands off the matter.

But as the shine from the star-like eyes started to slowly vanish from Yun Zhen's face he felt a profound grief. But not for himself, as he had agreed to fight for the entire universe. In fear and ignorance the gods were perpetrating the destruction of all formations of the universe. If the astral did not guide the stars, they would not know their path, the harmony of the cosmos would be destroyed and everything would end.

Yet as the murky light enveloped Zhen and his comrades was one that he would never break Even when darkness was closing in. He would not be forgotten; a lesson that would be taught century after century. He would return, and when that happens he will pick up the pieces and assumed his rightful place among the stars. His enemies who turn their backs on him would learn how it feels to be really afraid, and the world would never be out of order again.

And with that last offering, Yun Zhen, the God of Astral perished and was swallowed up into the vastness of the universe, his name, his divinity, forgotten in the black of space.
