"God damnit, I died again..!"
Fynix, a typical gamer with no job was currently playing a game known as 'Zeraph's Final Return'
"They seriously need to nerf this..! I'll say it hundreds.. even thousands of times more!"
it was a game about the main character of a novel, Zeraph, who was a regressor. In this game, he regressed back in the past for the last time. (you play as the MC in the game.)
There are 3 difficulties: Normal, Nightmare, Apocalypse.
They were all impossible to beat due to the insane scaling of damage and health.
Well, most players thought that were true..of course, if there were any left.
But Fynix wasn't one of them, he was on the hardest difficulty, 'Apocolypse,' fighting the final boss, <Angel Of Neglect>
He died multiple times, and spent countless years slowly reaching the boss...
"OH MY GOD..!!! THIS IS SO F#CKING RIGGED," yeah, you already know it wasnt just 'multiple', it was a couple hundred deaths.
The reason the boss was so hard..? Well, on the APOCALYPSE difficulty, ALL health is increased by 400% (excluding the player), buffs are completely removed, player stats are reduced greatly, and all weaknesses are completely voided. (such as: Elemental, Crits, Weak Points, Weapon Weaknesses)
The final boss has/had 656 Million HP, not including the 400% HP Increase by the way.
But, there was something in the game you could use to cheese the boss.
In the arena where you fight the boss, there was one tinyyy area in the corner that you could phase through and attack the boss.. BUT! There were only about 3 moves that could even attack the boss from outside the map, 2 of them were locked because they buffed the player. (APOCOLYPSE difficulty doesn't allow buffs, just in case you didn't catch that before.)
And countless days after discovering this section of the map, Fynix had to restart over and over again, each new run having to obtain a different skill to test.. before finally finding one.
'Burn: Maximum' was a secret obtainment skill. It's actually a forgotten skill by the devs, so it was unaffected by the APOCALYPSE difficulty rules, allowing Crits and also being able to hit the boss from outside the map.
Fynix, being the dumb idiot he is, accidentally stumbled upon the obtainment method of it, lucky him.. right?
Still took him 4½ months just to finally defeat the boss, the main reason is cause' the skill has low damage, and also the debuff from the difficulty.
"FINALLY.. I FINALLY DID IT!!" Shouted Fynix as his chair flew backwards, almost making him fall off.
But, his joy is quickly overtaken by a weird panel appearing in front of him directly after his win.
*DING*
"Congrats on being the first player to ever beat 'Zeraph's Final Return' APOCALYPSE difficulty, a gift has been sent to your mailbox.."
"Mailbox?" Whispers fynix, "Like my actual mailbox or ingame mailbox..?"
Well, Fynix wouldn't have to think about it much longer cause' not even 2 minutes after that notification, a ding was heard on his doorbell.
But.. Fynix, being the untrustworthy person he is, stares at the door suspiciously before finally deciding to reluctantly head over to it.
I mean, there was obviously a box, although a weird and otherworldly looking box, it was right there. Unnaturally floating.
"What's in it..?" Thought Fynix, bringing the box inside of his house
Fynix stared at this box for minutes, wrestling with his thoughts of 'Should I open it?' And 'What if it's a bomb..?'
But, when the box was actually unwrapped, there was nothing in it..
"Wheres the gift??" Grumbles fynix, "The whole point of this 'GiFt' was for there to be a GOD DAMN GIFT INSIDE OF IT!" Screams Fynix, punching the empty box with all his might!
"AUGH.. DAMN! WHAT IS THIS BOX MADE OUT OF..?"
After he punched the box, he heard a 'crack' sound come from somewhere on his body. The pain taking a bit to kick in.
The box was hard.. too hard. His wrist was broken almost instantaneously, making it hang limp.
Falling backwards from the pain, Fynix shouts, "AUGHHH! THIS PRANK ISNT FUNNY, IVE HAD ENOUGH..!"
His misery doesn't end here though, as the box on the counter starts melting.. becoming a black liquid, slithering towards Fynix's wrist, deeply cutting into it.
"AUGHHH..!"
The liquid, like a snake, slithers into the cut it just made.. healing his wrist, but making a weird symbol appear on his palm.
*DING*
"You have obtained: ???."
"You have obtained: Beginner Weapon Selection Ticket."
"You have obtained: 3 mana potions, 3 health potions, 1 mixed potion."
"You have obtained 100 exp as a bonus reward!"
"Level up! 100/100 exp. You are now level 2."
the weird pop-up panel dings multiple times. Seems as if Fynix did receive a gift, just a very weird one.
But, of course this phenomenon wasn't done just yet.
"How would I-" KABOOM! He was cut off by a loud rumbling outside of his small house, witnessing these little dungeons falls from the sky, some even resembling a portal, "-even use these..."
The more Fynix looks, the more these weird things start appearing.. like odd colored towers popping out from the ground, completely decimating the nearby buildings and shops.
"What the hell is happening!?"
*DING*
"Integration successful.. enjoy the update, Player: Fynix."
The panel buzzes and glitches as it fades away.. leaving Fynix to fight for himself.
No help.. no info, all alone.
