Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

The path I took back to my base was a bit long, as I had taken several detours just in case someone had managed to track me.

Along the way, I stumbled upon a few crimes in progress, but I didn't care much. Besides having my hands full, I really didn't feel like helping.

One can't always expect someone to fall from the sky and rescue them from danger.

After a few hours of walking in tortuous circles, I finally reached my base.

It was around 4 AM, and I was quite tired—not physically, but mentally.

Although everything went well, excluding minor mishaps like running into Dr. Otto and alerting some guards, my mind had been on high alert the entire time.

After all, even if my body could take some damage, the items I was carrying might not have survived intact.

And if they had been damaged, it would have affected the creation of my serum.

But now that I'm back at my base, I can finally relax. After a bit of rest, it will be time to start working on the serum.

**12:00 PM**

After eight hours of sleep, I woke up, had a simple cup of coffee, and set to work on creating the serum.

Since my last wave of research was quite fruitful, there wasn't much to worry about on the theoretical side.

In principle, if all my calculations are correct, nothing should go wrong with the experiment.

I know the version of the serum I'm creating may not be the most powerful possible, but it is likely the most stable and compatible with my body.

If I wanted a more powerful serum, I could simply incorporate DNA from several different animals, which would give me even more abilities and versatility.

For example, I could add eagle DNA to improve my vision or the DNA of a marine animal to gain the ability to breathe underwater—the possibilities are endless.

But nothing in this world is perfect. If I did that, two major problems could arise.

The first would be a "success" of sorts, but I'd end up turning into a brainless chimera. Just think about it—a body where multiple DNAs are fighting to reach equilibrium. It's already difficult to balance human DNA with just one other type, and with each additional DNA, that balance becomes harder to achieve.

The result of such a serum would be unpredictable.

The second problem is that my base DNA could collapse under the weight of so many different strands being introduced, turning me into nothing more than a puddle of blood and flesh.

I may be a genius, but even I can't fully decipher the entire human genetic chain. The creation of the serum itself is already a miracle, one that could only be replicated in the Marvel universe.

So, adding just the DNA of a modified spider to the serum is good enough for me. Plus, it's safer since I already have some spider DNA in my body.

Following the process step by step, after nearly ten hours of intense concentration, I finally completed my modified serum.

I probably could have created a different serum in less than half the time, but considering this will permanently change my body, being a little more careful wasn't a bad thing.
