The scene opens up in a small room in Bangalore, cluttered with books and a laptop on a desk. The morning light comes through the curtains. Gagan. P, a 19-year-old boy born on 2004 February 9th is sitting at his desk, staring at his laptop screen his fingers hover above the keyboard
Gagan: (Whispering to himself) How should this chapter end?
(He leans back in his chair, looking at the wall that is filled with posters of epic novels, and a calendar is pinned beside them, with a date circled in red.)
Gagan's phone gets a notification he picks it up, curious, and reads the email on the screen
Gagan: (Reading out loud) Dear Gagan.P, we are pleased to invite you to The Scriptoria Honors, celebrating our 20th anniversary in Indiana, United States. We recognize your contribution to the world of writing…
Gagan's eyes widen as he continues reading. He puts the phone down, his hands trembling a little
Gagan: (To himself) This can't be real...
He looks at the email again, confirming the invitation, he stands up and begins dancing around the room
Gagan: The Scriptoria Honors… This is no ordinary event. It's the dream stage for every writer—novelists, poets, screenwriters… And I've been invited. But... why me? I'm just starting out...
Gagan stops dancing around, his expression shifting from doubt to determination he returns to his desk, sits down, and starts typing
Gagan: If this is my chance, I can't waste it. I need to finish this chapter...
CUT TO: THE LAPTOP SCREEN
Gagan types rapidly, bringing his story to life. The screen shows a scene where Skyler Arakawa, the protagonist of Thunder Knight, is deep in his thought
Skyler Arakawa: What is my father hiding from me and most important of all what exactly am I? A Godly being, a Demonic being, or an Angelic being
As he types, pouring his own emotions into the scene. Finally, he hits the enter key, finishing the chapter. He leans back, reading over what he's written
He uploads the chapter and closes his laptop. Gagan turns to the calendar again, the circled date now a reminder of the journey ahead
Gagan: Indiana is far... but this is my shot, I have to take it
INT. GAGAN'S LIVING ROOM – EVENING
Gagan's parents are in the living room, his mother holding the phone while his father is reading a newspaper, Gagan comes to the living room
Mother: Are you sure, Gagan? Traveling alone... to America?
Gagan: (Excited, yet nervous) It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance, Mom. The Scriptoria Honors... they've invited me!
Father: (Proudly) That's amazing, son! We knew your writing would take you places, but this... this is something special
Mother: (Concerned) We'll help you get everything ready but promise you'll be careful
Gagan: (Nods) I will, Mom I promise
Mother: Alright we'll start with your travel arrangements. You'll need a good suitcase and some formal clothes...
Father: (Interrupts) Write a speech and make sure you practice it, who knows, you might need it
Gagan: Speech... right? I'll work on it
The scene transitions fast forward to Gagan preparing for the trip researching Indiana on his laptop, packing his suitcase, practicing introductions in front of the mirror, and finishing his book's manuscript
EXT. Bangalore Airport – Day
Gagan stands outside the airport terminal, holding his suitcase, He takes a deep breath, looking both excited and nervous
Gagan: This is it. My journey into the unknown...
He walks into the airport, and the camera follows him from behind as he enters the bustling terminal
INT. Airplane – Day
Gagan is seated by the window, looking out at the landscape of Bangalore as the plane takes off, The city shrinks beneath him, replaced by clouds
Gagan: I don't know what's waiting for me in Indiana, But one thing's for sure this is just the beginning
He closes his eyes, drifting into thoughts of the future
