Chapter-3
" Oh god, What if he doesn't wakes up ?"
" Calm down, We need to do something quickly about it. If the duke finds out-"
" Don't think negatively!"
Yoo Hakim could hear someone whispering as he slowly regained his consciousness. He couldn't hear what those voices talked about. Hakim was sure that he had heard those voices before but he couldn't remember to whom it belonged to. He was no stranger to such situations. In the past, he had many times encountered such situations, lying somewhere unknown and hearing unknown voices.
Yoo Hakim mentally started to prepare himself for the worst possible outcome. Whoever it was, if they were to attack him then he would make sure to not let them go unharmed.
Yoo Hakim slowly opened his eyes and made minimum movement as he cautiously scanned his surroundings. He was in a lavish room with a grand marble fireplace crackling in a corner, a small crystal chandelier attached to the ceiling with two velvet sofa beds in the middle of the room a few meters away from the bed he lay on.
"...…." Hakim stared silently at the overly pretentious decorations inside the room completely ignoring the presence of the two people siting on the sofa as they whispered something to each other in urgence and displeasure.
'Whoever decided the decorations of this room...… has a very bad taste.' Yoo Hakim let out a low chuckle to himself surveying his surroundings.
Yoo Hakim couldn't keep lying there the whole time. He decided to get up and let the others with him in the room know of his presence.
"Finally !" There was a hint of relief in the voice. Out of the two people sitting on the sofa, the one who spoke was a lady with long black hair and dark eyes. She was relieved to see Hakim sitting on the sofa.
There was another man sitting beside her who, along the lady got up and made his way towards Hakim.
"Just who do you think gave you the right to run away, huh?!" The man spoke in a harsh unfriendly tone making Hakim frown a little.
"Rather then you, I should be the one asking you this question. And where the hell even am I ?" Yoo Hakim asked in a sharp tone clearly. The man face twisted into anger and the earlier lady seemed surprised for a split second before scowling at him.
"Y-you dare t-talk back to me ?!" The man clenched his fist tightly in anger. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Yoo Hakim was a bit confused at his reaction but at the same time he was wary of him. He was convinced that he had never seen this people before in his 'first life'.
"Calm down, dear. Let me handle this." The lady placed her hand on the man's shoulder asking him to back down.
" Little one, Do you remember your name ?" The lady sat near him on the bed while gently smiling at him.
' Her smile isn't reaching her eyes.' Yoo Hakim took a mental note to himself. As a criminal investigator before the apocalypse in the modern world. He always had to investigate many types of people during work. So he could easily identify someone. Adding his skills as a criminal in the first life he had to have a good judgement of those around him.
' I don't know where I am right now. Nor do I know who these people are.'
Yoo Hakim started to think of his options.
' The lady doesn't pose much threat. She won't be able to move freely in such a heavy dress. The man also didn't seem to pose much of a threat. But if----
" This brat! How dare he ignore us?!" The man shouted at Hakim furiously. Seriously, what was this guys deal ? Hakim didn't even know him.
" You haven't replied yet." The lady was looking directly into Hakim's eyes now. The corner's of her mouth had turned down and she was loosing patience.
" I-I….." Yoo Hakim hesitated to reply.
" Do you know who we are ?" The lady no longer held back her frustrations.
Yoo Hakim shaked his head. Admitting that he didn't know who they were.
" This is it!" The man threw his hands up in the air and the lady let out a deep sigh.
" What do we do now?" The lady said as the other man leaned against a wall and said anxiously.
What were these people talking about? Yoo Hakim struggled to focus as he felt a throbbing headache.
" I'm leaving. Just send the butler here. We can't afford to make any delays. Memory loss or whatever this boy will have to go as soon as possible."
" Fine…. Just so as you please." As soon as the other man left the room the lady got up from her seat and stood in front of Yoo Hakim.
For some unknown reason her eyes were filled with hatred. Her deep gaze was pinning him down and making him feel leery.
" I-" Yoo Hakim was about to say something but he suddenly felt something hit him hard on his face. He touched his cheek and felt a sharp sting of pain with heat rising up. He didn't realise he had been slapped for a few seconds.
' What… just happened ?'
" Wasn't being a freeloader enough for you that now you also became amnesic"
" Tsk!"
The woman started at him with utter disgust in his eyes. What was her problem ?
After the lady left the room. Yoo Hakim was left in his room alone for a while.
" What the actual Fuxk ?"
Yoo Hakim can't believe it. He's not dreaming. That's for sure.
'This can't be real. Right ?!'
Everything feels so weird and confusing for him. What was he even doing ?
Who was this rude lady? Who was that man? Were is he? Who even is he? And most importantly... Why did those people had such huge heights?
Yoo Hakim looked like some kid in front of them.
Wait a second…..
" Why do I sound like a child ?"
The minute Hakim looked at his little hands, he couldn't help but laugh at his situation. He had never been so terrified before.
Yoo Hakim looked around frantically and picked up a mirror he noticed near him.
He was never so terrified when he fought hand on hand with zombies, neither was he so scared when he saw 'the conjuring' or when he used to listen serial killer documentaries alone at night.
But being turned back into a child ?!
