Ryan finally arrived at the training room, followed by Lyana, Leyfia, Ellina, and Charlotte. The sound of Ryan's footsteps echoed against the cold stone walls, while the lights in the ceiling cast a dim glow around them.
"You finally made it, son. I thought you would give up," Reynold said with a thin smile, his sharp gaze fixed on Ryan, who had just arrived.
"No, I just ate more," Ryan replied as he approached Reynold, his eyes unwaveringly focused on the older man.
"Then take your sword. You can use a wooden sword or an iron sword, but I recommend the iron one. A wooden sword won't be able to hurt me," Reynold suggested confidently.
"I understand..." Ryan nodded firmly, then walked toward the weapon storage. The wooden rack was filled with neatly hanging weapons... swords, spears, knives, arrows, and much more. Ryan's hand finally grasped a short sword, the weapon feeling cold and sturdy in his grip.
As Ryan walked back to the center of the field, his eyes were fixed on Charlotte. Ryan stepped forward with newfound confidence.
"Charlotte, come on," Ryan said, inviting Charlotte to join him in the center of the field.
"What? You're going to fight Charlotte?" Reynold asked with a surprised expression, his eyebrows raised.
"Is that not allowed? Besides, Dad is very strong; there's no way I could even give him a scratch on my own. That's why I'm bringing Charlotte along," Ryan replied, sounding confused.
"You're right, that's fine. Besides, you still won't be able to hurt me," Reynold smiled proudly.
"Really?" Ryan nodded slightly before glancing at Charlotte. Charlotte simply nodded in readiness. Seeing that, Ryan nodded back and, without hesitation, ran quickly toward Reynold.
Reynold, calm as ever, saw Ryan approaching and immediately placed his left hand behind him while gripping the wooden sword tightly in his right hand. Ryan's movements were incredibly fast, but Reynold remained composed.
Ryan swung his sword with all his might toward Reynold. However, with light steps, Reynold easily stepped back, avoiding the attack. Ryan quickly spun around, changing the direction of his attack into a deadly horizontal slash.
Reynold swiftly raised his sword, blocking the slash with the thick and sturdy back of his sword, producing a resounding clash that echoed throughout the room.
Without giving Ryan time to react, Reynold kicked hard with his left leg. The kick landed squarely in Ryan's stomach, sending him flying backward. Ryan's body slammed hard against the floor, displacing gravel and dust around him before finally coming to a stop. Ryan gasped for breath, but his eyes remained fixed on Reynold with unwavering determination.
"Good job, son. But you'll need to do more than this if you want to hurt me," Reynold looked at Ryan with a proud gaze.
Ryan, despite the pain, slowly got back up. He knew this fight was not over, and his determination burned even brighter.
Ryan stared intently at Reynold, his eyes filled with resolve. Without hesitation, Ryan continued his assault with increasing intensity.
Each of Ryan's sword strikes was swift and sharp, but Reynold, with undeniable skill, was able to block, dodge, and even push Ryan back with ease.
The fight continued, the clashing of swords ringing out, and quick footsteps echoing in the training room. Ryan's breaths grew heavier, but he showed no signs of giving up. After taking a deep breath, Ryan surged toward Reynold with incredible speed, adding weight to his attack.
Ryan pulled the sword back, gathering all his strength, and just as he was in front of Reynold, he swung his sword with full force. Even Reynold hesitated to block the attack, quickly lowering his body to avoid it.
However, to Reynold's surprise, Charlotte was already on Reynold's left side, ready to stab Reynold's neck with a precise movement. In an instant, Reynold reacted quickly, bracing himself with the wooden sword to support himself and evade the deadly thrust.
