NICO'S POV
"Let's have a party" she answered with an hint of excitement in her voice. I was confused on how a party was going to help us come out of the series of trouble Gabriella has put us in. I really do not understand why she choose a party as the solution but there got to be something coming that's more important in the whole thing. "A party ?" I asked and she smiled brightly nodding her head like a child.
Why would anyone get bored at staring at her she was such an amazing person and I could not get my eye off her no matter how hard I tried. "Yes a baby shower? Maybe ? You know that's the only reason we can hold a party now, we can't just hold a get together party without a reason" she responded but I was still very much in the dark.
"Tell me how a baby shower is going to help us solve our problems" I asked her because I need to know if she just wanted to have a baby shower or she was just doing it for us to get a solution. "So the plan is to invite people who are close to you like your family and friends and I will also do the same. In no time, the immigration officials will start investigating close family members and friends and they might spill the truth and say they know nothing about me. But if you introduce me to them and I also introduce you to my friends they will know we are a couple and would be able to testify to that." She explained.
It was a brilliant idea and It had not come to my mind before until now. Keeping her and the baby as a secret could be more dangerous than letting the world know that she was my wife. I was keeping her and the baby as a secret because I was still with Gabriella at that time but now thing are different I have made it clear to Gabriella that we were no longer together. For the few days I have been with Aris I had started to develop this feelings for her but I kept that between me and myself. I do not want her to feel burden with that and my feelings might be because she was carrying my unborn child and not because I was madly in love with her.
"That is a great plan but..." I was not even allowed to say the words out of my mouth when she cut in. "Hear me out, let's just give it a try. If you analyze this a bit too much you might not give it a try, because there are a bunch of disadvantages in it and I know you are trying to keep your company image and also your own image and not show me to the world yet but it just a small gathering pqpyou don't need to go too extravagant on it huh ?" She rushed her words and I could not help but smile. "I wasn't planning on going against it" I answered and her mouth formed into a 'O'. "Oh really ?" She replied and I nodded.
"You were about to say 'but' , what about the but ?" She inquired. "If you would let me finish what I was about to say. But we need to see my mom first. She is the perfect party planner and I'm sure she would love to help us. That is after she insult me for not introducing you to her all this while" I answered with a small laugh.
I could see the smile her on face and could tell she was excited. "You have a mom ?" She asked surprised but I was more surprised at her questions because like everyone else, I do have a mom which was quite normal. "Yes I do" I answered still laughing at her questions. "Well that's good cause I do not have a mom" she responded rather happier than sad. "Is she dead ?" I inquired carefully I didn't mean to bring back old memories and cause her any pain.
"No she is not, she left me when I was fifteen years old with my drunken dad and I also left my dad when I had enough to fend by myself. I stayed at my best friend Trish places." She answered nonchalantly and I could not believe it at all. She was abandoned by her mother and she was this calm and relax when she talks about it.
"Are you okay ? I am very sorry to remind you of old memories" I apologized immediately and she burst into laughter. "Every one says that but it's actually a good thing because I was adopted by Trish mom and dad and I also had the opportunity to go to college and study law. I'm also a successful lawyer. If all those things did not happen I would not become what I am now, so you do not need to worry about that because I would not embarrass you .
Your parents are wealthy not as wealthy as you are but they are okay. Right?" She answered and stood up immediately. "I never said you would embarrass me so you don't need to think that way" I responded immediately. "Okay " she replied and was about to leave. "Where are you going to ?" I asked her and she frowned.
"My room" she said as she rolled her eyes playfully. "Are you missing me already?" she asked nonchalantly and I swear I immediately forget how to breathe.
What was wrong with me ?! I asked thinking to myself
"No I just needed to know, we were both talking right here, that's why I asked and it's not like I don't miss you but" I stopped myself from saying any more words because I was saying complete trash and I could not make sense out of what I was saying. She just looked at me like I was a wired guy at a train station and I deserve that look.
"Good night Nico" she responded with a smile and walked into her room. "Good night" I responded. I was slowly going crazy.
