Chapter 7 - THE PLAN

GABRIELLA'S POV

The days after my confrontation with Nico were filled with rage. How could he choose Aris over me? I paced my apartment, seething. If Nico thought he could just dismiss me, he had another thing coming.

I needed a plan. A plan that would make Nico regret his decision. I picked up my phone and dialed David, Nico's personal assistant. He answered on the second ring.

"David, we need to talk," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Meet me at the usual place."

We met at a small, quiet café we had used before. David looked uneasy as he sat down across from me.

"What's going on, Gabriella?" he asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.

"Nico is still with Aris," I said bluntly. "He won't leave her, so we need to make sure he has no choice."

David frowned. "What do you mean?"

I leaned in, lowering my voice. "We need to hit him where it hurts. His career. If we can make it look like he's involved in something shady, it will ruin him. He'll be desperate, and he'll have to come back to me."

David looked uncomfortable. "That's a risky move, Gabriella. If it backfires, we could both be in trouble."

I smirked. "Not if we do it right. You're his personal assistant. You can plant evidence, make it look like he's been embezzling money or something."

David hesitated, but I could see the gears turning in his head. "Okay, I'll see what I can do. But you need to understand, if this goes wrong, it could end both our careers."

I nodded. "It won't go wrong. Just make sure you cover your tracks."

As David left, I felt a bit of satisfaction. Nico had no idea what was coming. He thought he could just move on and play happy family with Aris. But I would show him that you don't just discard Gabriella Fredrick .

Back at my apartment, I started working on the next phase of my plan. I drafted an anonymous letter to the immigration office, detailing how Nico and Aris's marriage was a sham, arranged for a green card. I made sure to include specific details that only someone close to Nico would know, to make it more convincing.

I mailed the letter the next day, feeling a twisted sense of triumph. Nico might think he could outsmart me, but he was wrong. By the time immigration finished with him, he'd be begging for my help.

Later, I met with David again. He had started planting the evidence we discussed, making it look like Nico was extracting money from his own accounts. It was risky, but if it worked, Nico's career would be in ruins.

"You better be sure about this, Gabriella," David warned as we parted ways. "This could blow up in our faces."

I smiled, feeling more confident than ever. "Don't worry, David. Nico will come running back to me. And when he does, I'll be there, ready to pick up the pieces."

As I walked away, I felt a sense of power. Nico thought he could ignore me, but soon, he would realize just how wrong he was. I would make sure of it. And if Aris got caught in the crossfire, well, that was just collateral damage.

Nico would be mine again, no matter what it took.

—————————

Days turned into weeks as I waited for my plan to unfold. Each morning, I woke up with a sense of anticipation, checking my phone for any updates from David or any signs that Nico's life was beginning to unravel.

my phone buzzed, as I was sipping coffee and going over my notes, It was David.

"Gabriella, we need to talk," he said, urgency in his voice. "Meet me at the café in an hour."

I arrived early, my mind racing with possibilities. When David walked in, his face was pale and drawn. He slid into the seat across from me, glancing around nervously.

"What's going on?" I asked, keeping my tone calm.

"It's started," David said, lowering his voice. "The immigration office received the letter. They're investigating Nico and Aris."

A thrill of satisfaction ran through me. "Good. And the other part?"

David hesitated. "I planted the evidence, just like we discussed. But Gabriella, this is getting dangerous. If they find out we're behind this..."

"They won't," I interrupted, my voice firm. "Just stick to the plan. Once Nico is desperate, he'll come back to me."

David nodded, though he didn't look convinced. "Alright. Just be careful."

As he left, I felt a surge of triumph. Everything was falling into place. Nico would soon be in a situation he couldn't handle. He'd have no choice but to turn to me for help.

**Nico's POV**

The following days were a blur of anxiety and fear. Aris and I did our best to keep up appearances, but the constant threat of an investigation hung over us like a dark cloud.

One morning, as I was getting ready for work, there was a knock at the door. I opened it to find two men in suits standing there.

"Mr. Nicholas Robert?" one of them asked.

"Yes, that's me," I replied, my heart pounding.

"I'm Agent Harris from Immigration and Customs Enforcement," he said, showing his badge. "This is Agent Williams. We need to ask you a few more questions regarding your marriage."

I nodded, trying to remain calm. "Of course. Come in."

The agents entered, and we sat down in the living room. Aris joined us, her face pale with worry.

"We received an anonymous tip that your marriage may be fraudulent," Agent Harris began. "We need to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the validity of these claims."

I glanced at Aris, who gave me a reassuring nod. "We understand," I said. "We're ready to cooperate fully."

Agent Williams pulled out a stack of documents. "We'll need to verify all these details. We might also need to interview your neighbors and friends."

As they continued their questioning, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was orchestrating this. Someone who knew exactly how to push us to the edge.

My mind raced back one person. She is the only one that can possibly pull a stunt like this. Gabriella!!

Nico's lawyers were trying their best to ensure that all this is resolved while me and Aris are still trying to make our marriage look as real as possible.

I think it's about time I confront Gabriella. My baby bump is getting big the least she could do right now is let me and Aris be. Our doctor had advice her to abstain from anything that would stress her up and right now Gabriella is taking things too far.
