Chapter 633 - Chapter 633: The Donkey's Illness Acted Up Again

[Chapter 723: The Donkey's Illness Acted Up Again]

Whenever someone mentioned the Black Widow, everyone thought of Scarlett Johansson. That was just not going to end well; one wrong move and it could be like MJ's downfall.

What? I didn't do anything.

Come on, if you're in America, don't even mention how beautiful someone's daughter is. If you run into a sensitive type, they might really call the cops on you.

This wasn't just some overreaction. When parents were around, talking to kids required parental permission. If the parents weren't there, it was best to keep a safe distance.

You couldn't blame people for feeling on edge. Do you know how many missing persons there were every year in Los Angeles?

The fate of those missing kids usually didn't turn out well. Plus, the FBI's performance was lackluster, leaving many cases unsolved. Even the ones that made the news were already terrifying.

Actually, you couldn't entirely fault the FBI. With so many constraints, it was hard to crack cases. Even if all evidence pointed to a suspect, it didn't necessarily mean you could bring them to justice.

...

"Sir, the food we sent to Somalia has been looted. Those bastards really crossed the line. Should we teach them a lesson?"

"What? Max, wasn't that placed under the World Food Programme? Shouldn't it be under the United Nations?"

"Sir, they're getting increasingly reckless. No matter how much aid food we send, it never reaches the ground."

"Then forget about it. By the way, our troops should be in the area too, right? Haven't they thought about maintaining some order?"

"I have limited intel here; I have no idea what they're doing."

"This is something we can't control. Essentially, this is the business of their own people. If they like looting, we can just donate to somewhere else; Uganda seems like it could use help too. Sigh, there's only so much we could do."

"Alright, got it, sir."

Donating food wasn't about someone being saintly; it didn't even come close. If you were a public figure, not doing something would really be unacceptable.

As for taking it a step further, well, the folks at the Pentagon were discussing that. They felt Somalia shouldn't be this way, and democracy needed to be implemented. If they weren't doing it, then they'd have to help enforce it.

Intervention had always been the Donkey's go-to strategy; they couldn't stand anyone, really. If one day they found themselves on the receiving end, who knew if this old Donkey would turn around and take a dive?

...

"Tanner, is Somalia in chaos?"

"Yeah, master, it's not just chaotic; it's practically a disaster. Those arms dealers not only sold weapons but also moonlighted as drug traffickers."

"Cough, it can't really be that way; the place is already so poor. What's in it for them?"

"Master, the whereabouts of much of the food are unknown, and we suspect..."

"Fine, I've already halted the aid. What background do these arms dealers have? Can they even make money like that?"

"Master, they all seem to have CIA ties; they're very active in Somalia."

"Tsk, every time I encounter those bastards, something bad always happens. What a terrible thing to happen to such a beautiful place."

Now that William White knew who was stirring the pot, he was no longer interested. Getting mixed up with the CIA was bad luck waiting to happen.

"Master, it seems like the CIA is really hurting for cash. They're venturing into all kinds of businesses now. A lot of the arms sold to Africa are tied to them; some were even direct operations on their end. To protect their interests, they've arrested quite a few arms dealers."

"Those idiots! Who's in this business without some level of backing? Even I wouldn't dare to do it."

Tanner smiled silently; you were just being pretentious. Those gold bars and dollar bills would eventually turn into arms. Even though you bought diamonds, that fact wouldn't change.

Alright, William White was indeed being pretentious. Living life required sticking to certain principles. To him, it was your problem if you didn't buy food.

William White knew all too well how unreliable American intervention could be. After World War II, they pretty much let loose.

In reality, they had been doing it intentionally for a long time. Behind closed doors, those guys were quite frank. If the world's five billion people lived like Americans, two Earths wouldn't be enough.

Although it was harsh, it stated a fact.

But why did I have to suffer from hunger and exposure?

So, that's how things became what they were today.

Look at the CIA's full name; they called themselves an information agency. Then look at what they actually did -- there was hardly any semblance of intelligence work. If the world achieved peace, they would probably go insane.

In truth, what America wanted was for everyone to fight among themselves. The more chaotic the world, the safer they felt. The department called Homeland Security was the true agent for American safety.

What? Why were they still being messed with by the likes of Al-Qaeda?

The reason was simple: those two groups' authorities largely overlapped. If there wasn't chaos domestically, why not go incite some abroad?

Funny, right? In the end, America's double protection completely failed. Those two groups of idiots were entirely unbothered.

This wasn't a joke; the most dangerous terrorists in the world were Al-Qaeda and ISIS. Do you know how these guys came to be?

Haha, they were all products of American training.

Pretty funny, huh? So many Americans died at the hands of these two groups. That event at the World Trade Center was also orchestrated by them. Logically, the heads of both departments would have already been jailed by now.

The reality was, not only had they not been jailed, but they had also been promoted. You had never seen any media criticize them either; a situation that obvious wouldn't escape a journalist's notice.

Haha, don't think that William White could openly mock those at the Pentagon without a care. You let him reveal the CIA's dirty little secrets; just try it.

This wasn't a joke. This could get someone killed. If you didn't want to live in fear, it was best to steer clear of them.

"Sigh, Tanner, looking at it this way, Somalia might really plunge into chaos."

"Yes, master, who knows what they actually want."

"Haha, I don't know either, Tanner. If this continues, I bet there won't be many living souls left. However, the CIA might just fall hard this time."

"They've gotten used to it. But the guy at the Pentagon won't have any dignity."

"Hahaha, he'll soon find out that war isn't child's play. Mocking Bush Sr. for taking down some dogs; let's see if they can even land a single blow against him."

William White's disdain for those at the Pentagon made a lot of sense. These guys had one common trait: check out their eloquence; they were excellent at debate and public speaking, while Bush Sr. was far from their caliber.

William White had witnessed that televised debate, and indeed, the levels were worlds apart. If someone was unaware, they might think the younger guy was the president.

Some things, you could say were easy, but when it came down to your turn, it might not be as simple.

Was dumb luck really so weak?

Absolutely not; he was completely bamboozled by the American way. You might think it looked simple enough. But if you were in command of a million-man army, good heavens, could you really guarantee you wouldn't mess up the battalion numbers?

What was the story behind Black Hawk Down?

That disastrous incident was essentially a group of old-timers at the Pentagon playing their war games.

Quite a few lives were lost, huh?

In fact, for both America and the world, it was a good thing. While Bush Sr. might lack many virtues, self-awareness was not one he missed. After realizing he lacked military might, he did his best to avoid conflict while in power.

Hahaha, the arms dealers who had high hopes for him were probably all driven crazy. Man, this was what he had to offer -- it was less impressive than the old Bush.
