Chapter 202 - Chapter 202: Opening a New Project?

After signing a series of contracts, Cameron started assembling his team. Now, White Films had a lot of money. Making two movies simultaneously was no problem at all; they could even handle three.

At a bookstore on Sunset Boulevard, a line inexplicably formed. Queueing wasn't really common, not unheard of, but relatively rare.

"Bookstore? Really? What book needs people to stand in line for? Is it some kind of signing event? Why not go to a central bookstore instead?"

"David, it must be William White's new book."

"Darn, I don't read that guy's books. Updates take forever; what's he busy with?"

"Haha, busy with your goddess, I'd bet."

"No way, I prefer Nastassja."

"Sure, but I saw the room full of Madonna's posters. What do you think you're doing, using banana cream pie? Didn't it burn you?"

"Bastard, I'll kill you."

"Hey, don't. Just go kill your billions of offspring instead."

William White's updates were slow, and the fans were dying to read more, especially that Game of Thrones book. It was so captivating!

But unfortunately, just when you were getting into it, he'd suddenly stop updating.

"Hey, buddy, is it Game of Thrones?" David yelled at a departing customer. The person wasn't bothered and replied casually.

"Jurassic Park, about dinosaurs. Pretty neat."

"What? He stopped writing Game of Thrones? That jerk!"

"No, they say it's still being written, coming out at the end of the year."

"Man, this book better not be another long series."

"Nope, just one book."

...

Scenes like this were quite peculiar. Los Angeles wasn't so bad, but some parts of New York needed police to keep order.

"Wow, that guy's books are something."

"How so? Not good?"

"They're great, Lucas. This would make a fantastic movie. Why don't you try to get involved?"

"Sigh, Spielberg, buying the rights is impossible. If you want to direct, he likely wouldn't object."

"Maybe, but you said his skills were improving fast, right?"

"There's still a gap. His biography film wasn't going so well. He really loves movies; he'll shoot a scene dozens of times till it's right."

"Haha, but if it were an action film, it'd probably be great."

...

Jurassic Park's IP was nearly as big as Star Wars. The movie was significantly cut down.

It's hard to say if that's good or bad. Respecting the original would've probably made it an R-rated movie; the story was really gory.

These cuts made sequels harder. William White wasn't planning a film yet; the existing special effects weren't up to par.

Another issue was that William White intended more than just movies; he wanted to use the film as an opportunity to build a real Jurassic Park.

Okay, extracting DNA from mosquitoes is nonsense, and cloning dinosaurs is ludicrous. What animal could lay such massive eggs?

Regardless of William White's character, his books were popular. The only thing fans disliked was the snail-paced updates.

Honestly, William White felt wronged. He updated every year; it wasn't a web novel. Words needed careful selection here.

...

"Geez, are you doing this on purpose? It's all swollen now."

"Hmph, see if you dare to insult me again."

"Sigh, you were doing fine at first, but why is it getting worse?"

"I never learned. Besides, I'm a lady."

"Fine, do your best. This time, there's a shot at the Oscars. You might lack acting talent, but singing's your main gig. You think scripts like this come often?"

William White was seriously instructing, though his methods were intense, and the teaching process got heated. Regardless, Madonna's skills improved a lot.

In another timeline, this beauty was a longtime star in showbiz. If she'd slept her way up, that'd be a joke. Without some talent, sleeping your way there wouldn't work.

"Wow, your skills have come a long way. Who taught you?"

"Don't be silly, I'm pure."

"Coming from you? Cough, cough." The guy enjoying a post-smoke couldn't hold it. How could she say such a thing, more shameless than I am?

William White was quite pleased with the book sales. A bestselling novel could easily sell for ten years. With enough readers, making a movie later would be much easier.

And besides, building a Jurassic Park on a deserted island wasn't a joke. Without a billion or two in American dollars, you shouldn't even think about it.
