'As the organizer of the party, William White made sure no one died. He couldn't care less about everything else.
It was exhausting. It was just the first day, and he wasn't sure if these guys would have the strength to walk in a week.
Today, feeling tired, William White didn't plan to stay up late. Using the excuse of being tipsy, he decided to take a walk on the beach alone.
Gotta admit, the beach here was nice. Walking barefoot on the sand felt wonderful. Though he couldn't see those mesmerizing colors, it still felt quite good.
It might just be psychological. If you said it was truly beautiful, that'd be a stretch.
"Max, you don't really need to come with me. This place seems plenty safe."
"Boss, this sea area is tricky. Being so close to the States, there are smuggler groups around."
"Alright then, Max. Later, check if it's possible to buy a larger island to set up a training center. I also plan to build a theme park."
"Got it, boss. I'll have someone inquire tomorrow."
"Can we buy some heavy equipment this time?"
"Sure, we will check the local laws. If it's allowed, of course."
"Haha, they don't really care here. You can do whatever you want on your island."
"Good, that sounds excellent. Let's get on it quickly."
William White knew that after the year 2000, there would be many restrictions. You wouldn't be able to do whatever you pleased. Right now, the Bahamas was quite poor; they just wanted to make money.
The most appealing thing was that, at this time, islands weren't expensive. Later, that wouldn't be the case.
You could buy a respectable little island for a few million bucks now, something you couldn't do in the future, even without freshwater. Plus, there'd be lots of restrictions.
...
Back in his room, his assistant helped him with his bath. Once you get used to being pampered, it's hard to go back to the way things were.
"Suzuki, you can sleep first. I have some work to do."
"Alright, if you need anything, just let me know."
To be honest, kimonos were quite nice, at least they were in the bedroom. William White saw them as pajamas. Look, they even prepared a pillow for him, placed just right.
Not dwelling on these things, William White returned to his 'plagiarizing' endeavors.
Ahem, began his literary creation.
'Everyone thought I only wrote short stories? Let me show you country bumpkins a long epic.'
Yep, he's planning to write Game of Thrones. Once he finishes, his peers will have to look up to him. The scale of this book is massive, only comparable to Lord of the Rings.
Opening the paper, William White started writing. From afar, his assistant watched, captivated.
A man seriously doing something is fascinating; a handsome man seriously doing something is irresistible. Blushing, the assistant retreated to the bathroom.
William White noticed and couldn't help but chuckle. His charm must've skyrocketed; just watching him could excite someone? Hmm, he should definitely reward her later; good children deserve presents.
...
William White always woke up early, especially in unfamiliar places. In the early morning before the sun rose, he decided to go for a workout.
The beach under the morning sun was quite dazzling.
Just past six, the temperature started rising. The season wasn't great; it'd be better to come in winter. The hot, humid weather was very dispiriting, but at least the air was nice, unlike Los Angeles.
Growing up on a farm, William White preferred fresh air, and Los Angeles was terrible now.
Back at the hotel, he needed a shower. He hadn't done much exercise, but he'd sweat plenty. No wonder there aren't many fat people in the tropics; all the body fat seems to get baked out.
Without too much craziness, everyone was getting up, appearing in the hotel lobby in small groups. William White didn't mind; he simply sat in the restaurant drinking coffee.
That's vacationing on an island for you, laid-back. No need to hop from sight to sight. You want to sleep in, do it. You want to watch the sunrise, go for it.
...
"Boss, what's the plan today?"
"Heading out to sea. See if we get anything. Or are you gonna stick around and..."
"No, I went to bed early yesterday."
"Yeah, early to bed, the hard kind, right?"
This guy was next door to William and made quite the noise. Now he dared to deny it.
"Boss, let's talk about fishing."
"What fish? It's so hot. Just go diving and catch them. Set up some nets for shrimp, done."
"Diving? I don't know how."
"Didn't you see all the security? They're experts. Don't worry. If not, try snorkeling. That should be okay, right?"
"That works. Snorkeling's fine, but I wanna try diving."
"Okay, there's plenty of gear; don't worry."
After breakfast, a bunch of young folks started boarding the boat.
William White wanted to craft his own yacht, but his standards were high. It wouldn't be cheap, so better to wait a bit.
