"Where am I?" the teenager awoke in darkness.
"Who turned off the lights? I can't see a thing!"
"Hey, is anyone there?" he called out, but received no answer.
Gradually, he calmed down. The endless darkness made him feel insignificant.
He found himself suspended in a void, with nothing beneath his feet, yet he stood securely.
Suddenly, a dazzling white light appeared nearby. As it faded, he recognized the object bathed in its glow.
"The Sword of Damocles...from the Silver King," he whispered.
He was a young man from Earth, and he'd watched the anime "K." The Silver King's power, immortality and flight, was one he'd always admired.
He reached out towards the Sword of Damocles, and his body floated towards it. When he touched it, the sword emitted a blinding light, and he lost consciousness again.
He awoke to a cacophony of noise.
"Hey, Captain, the boy's awake!" a shrill voice pierced his ears. It sounded familiar.
He sat up abruptly, realizing he wasn't home.
"What happened?" he wondered, holding his head.
"Hey, boy, who are you?" a man approached him.
The teenager didn't respond, lost in thought.
"Hey, the Captain's talking to you!" Buggy, the red-nosed boy, kicked the teenager's leg.
"What?" the teenager snapped back to reality, confused by the strength of the kick.
"Our Captain asked you a question," Buggy repeated.
"Who are you people? Why am I tied up here?"
"Tied up? You fell from the sky! We didn't tie you up," Buggy retorted.
"Fell from the sky? That's ridiculous."
"We thought so too, but it's true. And there was a giant silver sword that vanished when you landed."
'A giant sword? Maybe it wasn't a dream,' the teenager recalled the Sword of Damocles. "Where are we?"
"An uninhabited island."
"An uninhabited island...in the New World?"
"Of course it's the New World."
'New World...One Piece?' the teenager realized. He looked at the red-nosed boy, recognizing him. 'Buggy the Clown?'
"Pirate King? Our Captain will be the Pirate King!" Buggy declared. "Answer our question! Who are you?"
"My name is Adolf K. Shirakawa," the teenager replied.
"What are you? A pirate? A marine? A civilian?"
"I don't know. I can't remember anything except my name." Shirakawa was certain he had traveled to the One Piece world.
"I see," Roger said, having overheard the conversation. He sensed Shirakawa was lying but couldn't tell which part was the lie.
"What will you do now?" Roger asked.
"I don't know. Can I join your crew?" Shirakawa saw an opportunity to join the legendary Roger Pirates.
"Join us? We're pirates. We face death constantly, and we don't accept weaklings," Roger said, observing Shirakawa's physique.
"I'm not afraid of death, and I'm not weak. I bet I'm stronger than that red-nosed kid," Shirakawa bluffed.
"Red-nosed? Me? Kid? I'll show you how strong I am!" Buggy yelled, offended.
"Alright," Roger said. "If you can beat Buggy, you can join my crew."
"Thank you, Captain!"
"Hold on. You haven't beaten Buggy yet, so you're not part of the crew."
"Don't worry, Captain. I will be, eventually."
Buggy's anger grew. Shirakawa clearly underestimated him. Shirakawa had chosen Buggy because he knew Buggy was relatively weak, relying mostly on luck.
The other crew members grew excited, forming a circle to watch the fight.
"Your name is Buggy, right? You should attack first. I'm afraid you won't get a chance once I start," Shirakawa taunted.
"You dare underestimate me?" Buggy charged at Shirakawa.
"Buggy Ball!" Buggy jumped and swung his fist at Shirakawa's head.
Shirakawa blocked the blow with his arms.
"Ouch!" Shirakawa felt a sharp pain, as if his arm had been hit with a hammer.
But the pain vanished instantly. Shirakawa was confused but focused on the fight.
"My turn," Shirakawa said, punching Buggy. Buggy dodged easily.
The two began to brawl like children, punching and kicking each other.
"This is boring," some of the onlookers yawned.
After ten minutes, neither had sustained any injuries, but both were out of breath.
"You've forced my hand," Buggy said, pulling out a dagger.
He lunged at Shirakawa, twice as fast as before.
