Chapter 7 - Ghost

The battlefield was a scene of devastation, the ground torn apart by the clash of titanic forces. Sam, shrouded in a black hoodie and mask, stood amidst the destruction, his body crackling with red energy. Across from him, the boss—now a monstrous humanoid beast—snarled in fury, its eyes burning with a fierce hatred. But there was something different about Sam, something that sent a shiver of fear through the boss's twisted heart.

"Alright, big guy," Sam taunted, his voice slightly slurred, as if he were toying with the beast. "You wanted to see how strong I am, right? Well, let's… let's fuc*ing go!"

The boss, recovering from the initial blow that had sent him reeling, growled in anger. "You insolent wretch… I'll tear you apart!"

Sam's chuckle echoed through the air, his grin widening beneath his mask. "Yeah, yeah… we'll see about that."

Without warning, Sam launched himself forward, moving faster than the eye could track. He appeared in front of the boss in an instant, his fist glowing with red energy as he delivered a powerful punch directly to the beast's chest. The impact was immense, sending the boss skidding back several feet, crashing into the ground with a thunderous boom.

The boss gasped, shock coursing through him as he realized something was horribly wrong. He had fought Sam before, felt the power that boy wielded, but this… this was different. The mana emanating from Sam was far greater than before, an overwhelming force that made the boss's blood run cold.

He was… suppressing it… all this time? the boss thought, panic beginning to set in.

Sam straightened up, his movements smooth and relaxed, as if the fight were nothing more than a casual exercise. The boss, eyes wide with fear, struggled to his feet, trying to regain some semblance of control. But before he could react, Sam was already on him, his speed and strength making a mockery of the beast's efforts.

"Come on," Sam teased, his voice filled with dark amusement. "Is that all you've got? I thought you wanted to tear me apart."

The boss roared in frustration, unleashing a barrage of powerful swings with his claws, but Sam dodged each one effortlessly. His body was a blur of motion, moving with a precision that left the boss flailing, unable to land a single hit.

Realizing that brute force wouldn't be enough, the boss unleashed a trump card. With a guttural roar, massive wings sprouted from his back, each feather shimmering with dark energy. He took to the sky, intending to rain destruction from above, but Sam only grinned wider beneath his mask.

"Those are some beautiful wings you've got there," Sam remarked casually. "Mind if I take them?"

Before the boss could react, Sam leaped into the air, his speed once again astonishing. In one fluid motion, he slashed through the boss's wings with his bare hands, severing them as if they were nothing more than paper. The boss let out a howl of pain as his wings were torn from his body, sending him crashing back to the ground.

Sam landed gracefully beside the fallen wings, inspecting them with a critical eye. "Not bad… but they look better off you," he said, tossing the severed wings aside as if they were mere trinkets.

The students and soldiers watching from the sidelines could hardly believe what they were seeing. The boss, a creature of immense power and terror, was being toyed with, utterly outclassed by the mysterious figure in the black hoodie.

"The beast is strong… but that guy…" one of the students murmured, her voice filled with awe.

"No," a teacher interjected, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and respect. "They're both monsters… no… they're beyond that. What we're witnessing… is a battle between gods."

Desperate, the boss unleashed a torrent of dark magic, hoping to overwhelm Sam with sheer force. The ground shook as blasts of energy erupted from the boss's hands, but Sam simply stood there, letting the magic wash over him harmlessly.

The boss's eyes widened in horror as he realized the truth. "You… you're not just fast… not just fire…"

Sam tilted his head slightly, a playful tone in his voice. "Oh, you thought I was just about fire and speed? You really have no idea what I can do, do you?"

With a flick of his wrist, Sam unleashed a barrage of attacks, each one imbued with a different element—fire, lightning, ice, and more. The boss was bombarded from all sides, each strike more devastating than the last. The ground around them was scorched, frozen, and shattered as Sam demonstrated the full range of his power.

The boss, battered and beaten, fell to his knees, blood dripping from countless wounds. He looked up at Sam, terror in his eyes. "Who… who the hell are you?"

Sam stepped closer, his red aura intensifying, his voice dropping to a cold, ominous whisper. "I'm the one thing you should have feared more than anything."

The boss's eyes widened in terror, but before he could respond, the ground beneath them began to tremble. A dark, ominous energy spread outward from Sam, killing every blade of grass, every plant within its reach. The earth itself seemed to wither and die, the life force drained from it as a massive circle of devastation formed around Sam.

The students and soldiers watched in stunned silence as the entire school ground became a barren wasteland, the once lush area now nothing but scorched earth. A red prism of energy formed in the center of the circle, its light flickering ominously as it extended outward, stopping just in front of the school campus.

Sam raised his hand, his fingers glowing with a deep, crimson light. He looked down at the defeated boss, his voice calm and chilling. "Tell me… have you ever heard of a nuclear weapon?"

The boss's eyes widened in disbelief, but before he could utter a word, Sam lifted two fingers, pointing them downward. The ground beneath them erupted in a blinding flash of red energy, a massive explosion of power that lit up the entire battlefield. The energy surged upward, enveloping the area in a dome of crackling red light, its intensity blinding.

Everyone watching was mesmerized, their eyes locked on the spectacle before them. The sheer power on display was beyond anything they could comprehend, a force of nature that defied all logic and reason.

As the light began to fade, the students could only stare in awe and fear. One of them, voice trembling, managed to speak. "A person that powerful… wearing a black hoodie with a black mask… like a… like a ghost…"

The name stuck, whispered from one student to the next, until it became a chant that spread through the crowd.

"Ghost… Ghost… Ghost…"

Sam, now known to them only as "Ghost," stood amidst the devastation, the last remnants of the boss's power fading into nothingness. He had won, but at a cost that left the ground around him lifeless, a stark reminder of the power he wielded.

With a final glance at the destruction he had wrought, Sam turned away, his form slowly disappearing into the shadows. The name "Ghost" lingered in the air, a haunting echo of the power he had unleashed.

And so, the legend of the Ghost was born—a figure of unimaginable power, feared and revered by all who had witnessed his wrath.
