A man dressed in a brown cloak moved through the busy crowd, his head lowered. It was evening, and the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the town of Zeldor. The town had just finished a three-day celebration, honoring the goddess who had blessed them with rain after fifty long years without it.
The farmers, who had struggled to water their crops, had to rely on neighboring towns for food since theirs was always in short supply.
The man pushed open the wooden door of his home and stepped inside, closing it softly behind him. He removed his cloak and hung it on a nail by the door.
