*An Hour Before*
"Where is your sister? I have not seen her since my arrival," Timothy inquired, his gaze scanning the ballroom.
"My sister will not be in attendance this evening," Vincent replied, pouring himself a glass of wine.
"Why is that? I heard she just returned from her traveling." Timothy asked, his brows arched.
"She did, Isabel is unwell and unfit to attend a public gathering." Vincent explained with clenched teeth.
"Public gathering? It is your mother's birthday. What do you mean by that Vincent? Vampires do not get sick." Timothy said with a frown.
"What are you not telling us Vincent? We are all worried about her." Benjamin who was a Duke said.
Vincent wiped his face with his hand as a tired sigh escaped his lips. "Unfortunately, my sister was disfigured. She had a little play with the Dragon King's human, nearly killing her, so the King punished her by removing her fang." He explained.
