The siege to the tree trunk was starting. Lloyd had already killed five of the spiders that had intruded their tiny and dark base while Rennie barely killed three of them. She was only equal in strength with the elder hellspawns who only had a single core so she wasn't that much efficient in dealing with the enemy. Although her weapon looked kind of special and powerful to kill its enemies with a single hit, the girl wasn't that proficient in using weapons, therefore, unable to utilize the weapon's maximum potential.
The only thing Lloyd could for her was to take the larger share of problems in dealing with the nasty, poisonous spiders. The ugly goblin fiends were quite slow so they hadn't joined the fray yet, which made things a little easier. However, it won't be long before the whole tree trunk would be flooded by hellspawns. The corpses were also blocking the entrance, depriving them of air to breath.
