Chapter 39 - Good Riddance

Daniel stood, waiting for them to make their move. The tension in the air was palpable as they popped up out of the shadows. Ten Root members, accompanied by Danzo's personal bodyguards, surrounded him, their eyes cold and calculating.

outnumbering Daniel, Root members were confident in their victory.

Daniel's lips curled into a confident smile, "Overconfidence can lead to downfall"

Without warning, the first Root member lunged at him, kunai in hand. Daniel sidestepped effortlessly, his movements fluid and precise, grabbing the attacker's wrist, twisting it with a swift motion, disarming him and sending him crashing to the ground. "And now there's eleven" Daniel sneered.

Another Root member charged, but Daniel was ready. He flowed into the Fists of Flowing Water, his strikes a blur of motion. Each punch landed with pinpoint accuracy, sending his opponent reeling. Another tried to offer support, but Daniel's defense was impenetrable, his movements a seamless blend of offense and defense.

He unleashed a flurry of attacks, his movements a blur. The Root members struggled to keep up, their confidence waning with each passing second

"It seems our information was lacking," one of Danzo's bodyguards muttered, stepping forward. Fu prepare to use his mind technique, focusing on Daniel while he fought the other members.

Daniel moved like a shadow, evading their strikes and countering with devastating efficiency. His chakra-infused punches shattered their defenses, and his swift kicks sent them sprawling.

"Got him" Fu muttered catching Daniel with his mind transfer justsu, quickly after Torune punched Daniel on the face where he's skin was exposed infecting him with he's venomous insects.

"You're strong," Fu Yamanaka admitted, "But you lack experience."

Daniel's eyes turned red as the venom spread through his veins. He staggered and fell to his knees, gasping for breath. "It seems you overestimated yourself," Danzo sneered, emerging from the bushes and walking in front of Daniel. "Don't worry, I won't let you die," he added, revealing his Kotoamatsukami eye. As he used it, Daniel's form puffed into smoke.

"Now that was entertaining," Daniel's voice echoed from above. He sat on a tree branch, having watched the entire scene unfold. With a graceful leap, he landed next to Torune, who was still covered in venomous insects. Daniel stretched his arm towards him, releasing a ki blast that obliterated a chunk of the forest where Torune stood, leaving no trace of Torune Aburame.

"Were you pleased by my performance? Although I never said this before... Don't mess with me," Daniel declared, his voice cold and unwavering. He shot a ki beam from his finger, piercing Fu Yamanaka's chest and making him drop in an instant. Danzo panicked, jumping back to create some distance.

"Still," Daniel muttered, his eyes shifting as he activated his Mangekyou Sharingan. "What... You..." Danzo stammered, paralyzed with fear. Seeing Daniel's eyes transform, he realized that Daniel might be an Uchiha or an inheritor of the clan's eyes.

"You only have one eye that interests me," Daniel said, approaching slowly. He reached out and plucked Shisui's eye from Danzo, absorbing his memories and releasing him from the jutsu. "A learning moment for you," he muttered.

After erasing Danzo, Daniel took a moment to digest the memories he had absorbed. "So, this mission was a lie," he muttered, realizing that Danzo had manipulated the assignment nin into giving him a classified mission. "Lucky nin, he just dodged a bullet."

Daniel sighed, contemplating his next move. "I have no interest in Konoha's political situations, so I won't use the fake Danzo to gain a footing in Konoha. But maybe I should change a few things regarding Danzo's terrible ways," he mused. With a flick of his wrist, he created a clone of Danzo and sent it back to Konoha.

"Wonder which mission I should go for," he mused, teleporting back to his place. After the end of the Chunin Exams, Daniel received his first order for his chakra pills and healing pills. The business started off to a good start, and he felt a sense of accomplishment.

Back at his place, Daniel received an invitation from the Hyuga clan. He changed out of his regular all-black attire into a deep blue outfit, donning his Chunin vest. As things were fairly quiet, there wasn't much for him to do. "I need some action," he muttered, arriving at his destination.

"Welcome," a member of the clan greeted him, guiding him to the main building.

"You arrived sooner than expected," Hayashi said, welcoming him in.

"I won't waste time. It appears you've caught the eye of one of the family heads here. They would like to request you to oversee the training of a team in which their daughter is a member. Currently, their Jonin instructor is held up by a mission, and for the next three months, they'd like you to take them under your wing," Hayashi explained.

"Hmm. Interesting. Maybe I could spice things up by turning some nobodies into prominent shinobi," Daniel thought. "I've also wanted to see the Byakugan get a little more limelight than it did in the original series," he pondered.

"Okay. I'll accept your proposal. But I'll start next week. I'm currently busy with my own things," he said, eager to stretch his legs a little and take on a mission outside the village.

Daniel made his way to the mission assignment desk. "Back so soon. And already eager to head out again?" the nin asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, something outside the Land of Fire. The previous mission was... Well things happened and now I'm back," Daniel replied, his voice steady.

The shinobi nodded, rifling through a stack of mission scrolls. "You're in luck. We have a high-priority mission that requires immediate attention. A small neighboring nation has requested intelligence support. They are on the brink of civil war."

The shinobi handed him the scroll. "Although you've proven yourself. I would still advise caution. The situation is volatile, and the nation is in turmoil."

Daniel nodded, accepting the scroll.
