This day of the month was a odd one for Zen, the reason for that is it being one of the rare occasions that he was given a day off. Naturally he'd have his days cut in half every weekend but this time that wasnt the case. This left him....free.... extremely free.....so free that he began to clean around his house even though it was spotless. So spotless that he began to hallucinate there being specs of dirt and throwing away stuff he unpacked from when he moved out of his parents house. It's true that all he wants is a peaceful everyday life but deep inside himself he doesn't know what to do when he has nothing to work towards at all. Zen....is a workaholic.
After he was done throwing everything that was about 5 years old and unused he played on his couch staring at the ceiling. Nothing in particular was going through his head and actually nothing at all was in mind, he went into the famously known place of where all men go to mentally on random timing. A place called, THE ZONE. Only men and girlfriends and or wives of men for 2 years plus know of this place because it's the thing that confuses them the most, not having ANYTHING on the mind at all. Zen was in this state for the next hour thinking of nothing and only seeing the ceiling, some can confuse it as meditation but it's far from meditation...because once again he wasn't thinking of anything AT ALL through out this entire time.
But as of all peaceful mindless moments they must come to an end, and for him it came to an end when he smelt the smell of cake. Specifically chocolate cake and as this smell filled his entire house it reminded him of his birthday when his mother would make him home made chocolate cake every year. He then quickly stood up and put on got dressed to go to the store, his eyes filled with determination as he reached for his phone and called his mom.
"..." Anxiously tapping his foot she then picked up the phone.
"Can u make me your home made chocolate cake mom!"
"....."
"But..."
"I-i'm really cravin-..."
"Yes mam..."
"Yeah I haven't forgotten about my nieces birthday.."
"Okay..."
"Love u, bye.."
He then sat back down in defeat, his mother rejecting him making Zen wait for his next birthday, and as the gloom filled his mood he then stood up as determination sparkled in his eyes once again, Announcing. "I will make my own home made chocolate cake then!!!"
He grabbed his keys and quickly rushed to his car, following the laws of the road and parking in front of the store known as Wallymart. He walked into Wallymart filled with this seemingly unstoppable energy and then, thunder struck...mentally of course. It was a terrible realization mainly because
"No way...what's with this...this is bull, why is there....SO MANY PEOPLE."
He then looked at his phone, realizing that of all days he got a day off it was SUNDAY. A day that everyone and there family's equally agree as if it was coded into there DNA to go shopping for food and other items. This meant that if he wanted his home made chocolate cake he would at least have a 10 minute wait just to get too checkout and another extra 30 plus to deal with traffic on the highways. He had a decision right then and there, will he suffer for the next hour or will he leave now and forget about the cake.

He unlocked his door to his house and entered with a look on his a face, a look that is universally known as "hell no-".
He didn't didn't get his chocolate cake.

Quetzal, she was a really nice women and very popular with her coworkers and of course every she came close too. She wasn't perfect but everyone she knew would call her so due to her amazing personality and beauty. Also on the same day she was also given the day off, but differently from Zen she was a bit...weird. The entire day in her perspective and schedule was game, watch entire seasons of anime, read manga or manwha or draw. This wasn't a secret and she convinced herself that it wasn't, in her point of view it's just because no one really asked what she was interested in. Which was a lie on her part but she was in slight denial because she wasn't oblivious to her reputation, she knew she was seen as a beauty in and out and she subconsciously really enjoyed it. In her mind it was like living in a story of a shojo manga or anime even tho being 24 years old. To her it was PERFECT.
After so long of not having a day off she took full advantage of it, and evening quickly came.
"It's 7 already...my day off is almost over, this sucks." Her stomach then growled
"I forgot to eat today...I thought I did though, maybe I could have something fast." She looked in her fridge, surprised to see nothing in it at all.
"I....forgot to go grocery shopping...on a Sunday of all days.." She then looked over to her keys and then quickly got dressed to go out to the nearest store. She didn't like getting dressed at the end of the day, and really didn't like how she had to go grocery shopping on a Sunday but she had a plan.
"All I have to do...is go in and out, really fast, I can do this!"

She decided to get takeout, specifically Pizza.
Everytime she would eat something out she could hear her dad nagging her about staying healthy and being responsible but since she has been living alone for the last 4 years she no longer feared her parents randomly appearing everytime she would do something bad.
"This is so good~"
Suddenly she heard a knock on her door as a man stood out her front porch with a white sealed box. She then quickly whent to her door with an excited look on her face as she took the box off the delivery mans hands and thanked him for his service. She then went to her table, opening up a box to see the amazing chocolate cake she ordered but as she looked at it Zen then popped inside her head.
"The last time the department had came he looked really happy, he'd probably like a piece." She then giggled as she put the white box holding the chocolate cake in the fridge and quickly whent back into her room comfortably sitting on her pink gaming chair.
"Let's end today with a bang!"

The day for both of them started off as peacefully as ever. Zen was fully dressed prepared for this day to be another busy day at his job at TSC. He breathed in the fresh crisp air from morning dew and drove to work and for Quetzal she was also ready for a busy day slightly bummed she would least likely get another day off in awhile. Both of their day offs were now over and both were ready and set for work. After heading off the elevator to his department he said good morning to his coworkers and colleagues and he looked at himself in the mirror realizing his collar was off. He began to fix it as he heard Quetzals voice. "Good morning."
He looked at her, then smiling. "Good morning Quetzal, how's your day off?"
She then responded. "It was amazing, how about yours?"
He lightly chuckled, "honestly I didn't know what to do with so much free time."
She looked at him surprised but understanding why. "I get it, I had the same problem too." She then held up the white desert box. "You like cake??"
Zen then became more direct responding excitedly. "Love it, what kind?"
"It's double chocolate!" Her eyes sparkled.
He then responded ecstatically. "That's my favorite! You asked me if I liked cake cause you'd give me some right?"
Quetzal nodded as she then responded. "We can have some after work, I'll have it in the fridge so it'll stay fresh and amazing for us~."
While they both talked to each other the signs of the day becoming a great start of the week continued to increasingly grow inside their minds and while the day passed by both were thinking of when they would be able to have the double chocolate cake, not just the cake was on their mind tho because throughout the entire day their coworkers realized their mood and the look in their eyes as something special. They had a slight hunch in what was going on but didn't know that a chocolate cake was the thing to set up there next coworker date.
