"Doesn't matter if you answer or not," Violet shrugged. "You, Anna girl. Starting today, you're the head maid. Now, go get me the list of estate's expenses this month. I'm giving you all the permissions you need."
It wasn't until Rosalyn nudged Anna's arm that she managed to realize that Violet was talking to her. She replied with a hesitant nod.
"...Well then, that's all. You can all return to your assigned areas."
'Crap.'
Being the head maid means that Anna's monthly salary will rise, but it also means that she's now closer to Violet's radar. Her movements and actions will be permanently visible under Violet's eyes.
