Chapter 10 - THEIR TRIP

"The fuvk! Open The damn door!" Julian has been outside of Astrid's room for hours yelling for her to get the door open.

It's time for their flight and Astrid on the other hand slept through and could hardly hear someone knocking on the door.

Julian was getting worried already having the worst scenario in his head.

"Babe… we can just leave her to enjoy the trip instead," Mattie tried persuading Julian but he snatched his grip off her hands.

"Seriously? Mum arranged for this, and you think she will let things go easily?"

Mattie was getting irritated at the way Julian began to care for the lady in the room.

Julian banged the door severally, calling Astrid's name but there was no response.

"I will be breaking down this door on the count of three if you don't fucking open it," Julian yelled again.

Only then did Astrid hear the continuous banging on the door, she was confused at first until she heard Julian's voice.

She sprinted toward the door opening it at the same time Julian was about to burst through.

"Ju…" she stopped mid-sentence seeing Mattie and then swallowed hard.

"Are you fuvking deaf! I have been banging on the door for hours," she looked down sadly.

She is a heavy sleeper, and she could understand how frustrated he is.

"I am…"

"Don't you dare complete that statement because it's going to piss me off more!" she lowered her head and this irritated him even more.

Exhaling sharply, "Get your damn luggage ready, it 's almost time for the flight," Julian threw her passport at her and stormed off leaving Mattie with her.

Astrid would have left the door open if not because of Mattie. "You should be excited about your trip. Because I am going to make it a memorable one for you."

Mattie smirked strutting close to her. Astrid, recalling what she had done in the morning, quickly clutched her passport tight so she wouldn't do anything crazy.

"Smart," She teased and then walked off, Astrid was overwhelmed by this, she had thought she wouldn't go with them and that would give her some distance from Mattie boy who was she kidding?

Julian wouldn't think twice about spending time with her, her stomach grumbled, and only then did she recall she had only eaten a small portion of food for breakfast.

She is the type who loves food and would do anything for food, but weirdly she hadn't eaten well for three days because of her recent life issues.

She sighed and walked into her room to get her luggage, she had dressed up and got her things arranged before she slept off.

When she was done she met Julian in the living room, "I am

ready…" Julian glanced at her to see she was still wearing the outfit he had given to her in the morning.

He shook his head and gestured for them to leave, with Mattie's arms wrapped around his.

When they got out a limousine was packed outside, "What? She can't take the same car as us.." Mattie refused immediately.

"Babe… this trip is for the both of us, you don't want mum to be pissed."

Astrid who stood behind them could only wait for the both lovers to bicker as her heart panged in hurt.

"Fine… but she can't be close to you," Julian smiled at this and gestured for her to get into the car.

He went after her and then Astrid, who sat facing both lovers, made out in front of her.

The ride was silent but frustrating to Astrid, watching the one who was supposed to be her husband in the clutch of another lady.

A few minutes later they got to the airport and alighted their car and since he is a Logan he had his private jet, he could go with.

Astrid on the other hand is not only amazed at the respect given to him but with the power his name could work.

Both lovers board the plane as Julian helps Mattie leave Astrid behind.

Astries sighed and was about to join them when someone grabbed her arms.

She was too stunned to speak as she got lost in his stares. "Hey, Lady, you don't want your husband groping me."

Only then did she flutter her eyes and come back to her senses. "Mr…"

"Miles.." he corrected her as she let out a small smile, "Let's go inside." he gestured for her

"Miles.." Mattie called in irritation as her gaze met with his.

"Why are you here?"

"The question should be meant for you, It's a trip meant for both of them." Miles fired back pointing to Astrid and Julian.

Mattie took in a deep breath as she could only bite her lip in frustration without a response.

"I invited him over, so I don't have questions to answer to Mum," Julian told her now and that made her calm a bit.

"Well, welcome, and thanks for the cover-up, we would be pretending to be a couple so you fool her."

Astrid felt bad about this, she had always known rich kids had silly tricks up their sleeve but this was way more than she thought.

"What do you call mum? A fool?" Julian retorted and Mattie was at a loss for words again.

"You should sit here Gorgeous." Miles let out gesturing to her seat, and this made Julian squint his gaze at the sudden nickname.

Astrid shot him a small happy smile, as she sat opposite the couples who wouldn't keep their hands to themselves.

It's the first time someone aside from her mum is calling her a cute name.

She could feel her face red and almost burst with embarrassment.

The flight attendant came forward asking what they would need, the glances they cast at Astrid also didn't go unnoticed.

The news was everywhere, something everyone knew about.

Only this time did Astrid Stomach decide to growl loudly embarrassing her once more.

"Wow… I sure see where all the good goes I am surprised you could fit into that seat." Mattie taunted and the flight attendant who was present cracked at this.

Miles didn't find it funny and he shot her a glare, "You gonna sit there and watch someone embarrass your wife?" Miles asked and Julian scrunched up his face.

"Are you crazy? We both know I don't even know her… and my life got ruined because of you," Miles exhaled sharply and glanced at the flight attendant

"Get her a better food to eat, and if I notice another crack from you again, I won't hesitate to get you fired, understand?" Miles warned and she lowered her head in fear.

She knew Julian wouldn't bother stopping him because they were best friends and would fire each other's employees once they weren't satisfied with them.

"I am sorry ma'am.." with this, she sprinted out of their presence. Astrid couldn't help but admire Miles. Not only did he make her feel loved but also defended her

"Hey, are you okay?" Miles asked, noticing Astrid's pale face as the flight prepared for takeoff.

"I...I think so," Astrid replied, her voice shaking slightly. "I have never been on a plane before."

Miles smiled and took her hand. "Don't worry, I have got you. First, we need to make sure our seat belts are securely fastened." He demonstrated, clicking his seatbelt into place.

Astrid followed suit, her hands trembling slightly as she tried to buckle hers. Miles helped her, his fingers brushing against hers.

"Next, we need to put our seats in the upright position and make sure our electronic devices are in airplane mode," he explained.

"I don't have a phone with me," she whispered. Miles was stunned at this but decided to ignore it.

As the plane began to move, Astrid felt a wave of nausea wash over her. She closed her eyes, taking deep breaths.

Miles squeezed her hand reassuringly. "It's okay, I'm here. Just breathe with me."

Astrid felt a sense of calm wash over her as Miles' warm hand enveloped hers. She opened her eyes to find him smiling at her, his eyes crinkled at the corners.

"Thanks," she whispered, feeling a flutter in her chest.

Miles' smile softened, his gaze holding hers. "Anytime, Gorgeous"

As the plane took off, Astrid felt Miles' hand remain wrapped around hers, a steady presence that comforted her.

All these while Julian couldn't help but have a weird feeling in his heart watching his friend too close to his wife.

Miles wasn't the type to flirt with girls, he hated most of their company but seeing he did things with her with no scrunch-up face or irritation. This wasn't sitting well with him.

He also didn't miss the small smile she would throw at him, and the way she blushed.

"What the heck is wrong with me?" he asked himself, trying to grasp his senses, still it wasn't working.

He could tell something for sure, he was furious at the lady sitting before him for running his life but what was more annoying was his friend being too close to her.
