As night descended, Astrid's anxiety grew. Julian was still not back from the so-called place he had told her he was going to.
She called him but didn't get a response from him at all, another sigh escaped her lip as she looked around and then she called it a day.
With a heavy sigh, she gathered her belongings and stepped out of the company.
"Larry, I am leaving," Astrid announced, her voice laced with a hint of exhaustion.
Larry sprang into action. "Ma'am, the boss asked me to ensure your safe passage home," he said, his eyes locked onto hers with a mixture of concern about how exhausted she looked.
Astrid's gaze drifted to her mind already at the hospital with her ailing mother. She needed to go visit her again.
"Larry, I need a favor," she began, her tone low "Can you help me keep a secret from your boss?"
