Mattie's scream shattered the living room's calm, sending chills down Zach's spine as he rushed in from his planned meeting. The guards' urgent call had prepared him for chaos.
"Ahh!" Mattie shrieked, her face twisted in rage, as she smashed another lamp to the ground.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" Zach demanded an alarm etched on his face.
"Dad! She slapped me! She... she... fucking raised her hands on me!" Mattie yelled, her voice trembling with resentment.
Zach's eyes surveyed the destruction, his eyes widening at the shattered lamp. "Those cost a lot, you know that, right?"
Mattie glared at her father, accusation burning in her eyes. "Aren't you concerned about your daughter, who just—"
"Tell me, Mattie," He interrupted, his tone measured, "what should I do? You destroyed friendships we've built for years."
He settled into his chair, undisturbed by Mattie's escalating fury.
