"Oh my goodness, Astrid!" they exclaimed, rushing to her side as she collapsed to the ground, her face slick with sweat and her words barely audible.
Julian's instincts kicked in, and he swiftly wrapped his arms around her, lifting her. "Hospital?" he asked, an alarm etched on his face. She shook her head and he was more worried about this.
"Is she sick? The doctor never mentioned any health issues." he thought not knowing what to do.
Astrid's sudden collapse brought back memories of the last time she had come home this way to Julian, but he remained silent, focusing on supporting her.
He guided her to her room, his mind racing with questions. Why did she leave the office early? What was wrong?
"Astrid, what's going on?" Maren asked concern etched on his face. "You left work suddenly and now this. What happened?"
Astrid's flat response, "Nothing," only heightened Julian's worry. They both understood she wasn't ready to talk.
