Chapter 3 - DISCUSSION BETWEEN THE FAMILIES

The whole ceremony had been destroyed and everyone was sent home. Presently the Logans, Daniels, and Adams are the only ones left in a private suite for them to talk.

Mattie could be seen by the corner brawling her eyes out and her mum comforting her while at the same time throwing a stink eye at Astrid.

"Tell me one thing that wouldn't make me ruin your family?" Julian finally asked as he ruffled his hair in frustration.

"I understand how you feel Mr Logan, she has been no trouble to me, but I never expected her to cause this much damage to others." Josh pleaded now, getting him more irritated.

"Seriously, do you think that would be of help right now?"

"Mr. Logan, what my husband is only trying to tell you is that we have no relations with her anymore, she has been living with her mother… so if you…"

"Dad!" Astrid cried out, frustrated, "I…" A glare from her father and she couldn't talk anymore.

"You have caused enough trouble for us by not showing up and now you decided to destroy someone else's life?" Josh yelled, making her bite her lips and forcing back her tears.

"So, now that she is married to my man, what is the next solution?" Mattie asked for the first time as she wiped her tears.

The whole room was silent not giving a response, "Seriously? Am I going to lose my man to nobody?" Julian moved toward her with guilt.

He was about to touch her but slapped his hands off, she was about to slap him but he was quick to grip her by her hands.

"Get away from me you bastard," he decided to shift back and Daniels couldn't help but be surprised at how calm he was with her.

Julian's hands reached out to his face as he stared at her, one could see the anger bubbling in him.

"Were you about to slap me?" Mattie sighed and turned her back against him.

"You deserve more than a slap you monster you never loved me and thank you so much I found out today," she let out, then pulled the ring from her finger.

"Enjoy your marriage bastard!" she yelled and threw the ring at him.

Astrid looked disheartened by this, "Miss Adam we can resolve this," Astries small voice whispered.

Mattie stopped on her track, "Did I just hear you call me after destroying my whole life?" Astrid swallowed hard and then lowered her head.

"It's all my fault, you can just get married to him and forget this all happened." Mattie was about to slap her when one of the men stepped in catching her hands.

"Miles," Mattie called in utter disbelief, "The girl is shaken enough, and the error also began from me so direct your anger to me." Mattie bit her lip in frustration.

Only then did Astrid recognize that Miles was the one who had directed her into the room in the first place.

"I detest every one of you!" Mattie yelled again and stormed out of the room.

"I expected more from your family Desmond," Mattie's dad said to Julian's dad who had just sat there with his wife watching the whole situation unfold.

"This is a great shame!" Mattie's mum said and glared at Astrid's shaken self.

She shot her a deadly glare before leaving the room with her husband now left with Adams, Daniels, and Miles.

Julian flipped the chair, throwing it against the wall, leaving everyone in utter silence.

"Dude, it's my mistake I had brought her here thinking…" Julian stormed toward his best friend, punching him in the face.

"You bastard!" he snarled, and Astrid couldn't be more than scared to see the one she had a crush on for years finally display his personality in front of her.

"Mr Julian I know I have caused you so much pain seeing how you loved her but," Astrid pulls out the certificate.

"Her name is still written there, just my…" she stopped talking when his hand wrapped around her neck.

"One more word from you and you will be dead," Becky, Julian's mum who had just watched the whole scene unfold all this while used this period to flare up from her seat.

"Enough! I never brought you up to hurt a woman!" she yelled, pushing him off and helping Astrid from the floor.

"I should be on the ground," Astrid tried to say but she refused and helped get up.

"You are now my daughter-in-law so you are no longer a nobody," Astrid eyes fluttered in shock, as Nadine gulped nervously in frustration.

She should have been the one getting married to Julian, not her sister, she thought.

"Mum?" Julian called in shock.

"Hate or like it but you have gotten married to her and now have her as a responsibility," she proclaimed.

"Mum, what are you…" Julian glanced at his dad to see he was also in support of what she had just said, the same as his best friend.

"Hold on, what is this?" Julian asked, confused.

"We only accepted Mattie to be your wife because you loved her, we did what you wanted now it's time to do what we want," Becky explains further.

Not only Julian but Astrid is confused by this, "I am a fully blooded religious lady, I don't believe in the certificate but the man of God who has joined you together." She added.

"You should be mad that she ruined your reputation, your partnership. You.."

"Reputation?" Desmond, Julian's dad, spoke for the first time.

"You did so yourself," Julian scoffed in frustration as he ran his hands through his hair.

"Okay, fine… do as you wish, I am divorcing her tomorrow morning." Astrid closed her eyes, breathing out a bit of relief and at the same time jealousy.

She might want to get out of the situation right now but the fact that Julian loves Mattie wasn't making her happy.

"Dude sorry to burst your bubbles but you can't get a divorce until one year after your marriage," Miles announced.

"What?" Julian growled. Miles patted his shoulder and then smirked.

"Sorry dude, you are a married man now."
