Larry finally arrived at the scene his eyes widening in concern as he took in Julian's bedraggled appearance. Julian was shivering, his clothes soaked through from the rain.
He needed to even borrow a passer-by phone to reach out to Larry since his phone was still in his wife's car.
"Boss, what happened?" Larry asked, rushing to Julian's side. "Why did you go out in the rain? You know how sick you were the last time you got caught in the rain."
Julian recalled the night Astrid had left him, and how he had been holding on despite his illness.
He had refused to take medication and had been consumed by sadness and regret. But the moment Astrid had left, everything had come crashing down on him, and he had to be forced by his parents to admit himself in his house. It was a near-death sickness.
Larry, already looking worried for his boss, helped Julian into the car, and they drove away.
