"Grandfather..." he called out, shock and desperation etched on his face.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Divorce? Already? A few months ago he would have been over the moon if he were to get a divorce but not anymore.
"Why the sudden divorce?" he asked, his voice laced with disbelief.
He felt like he had been punched in the gut. "Are you asking me that question when I just made things easier for you?" he fired back.
Becky quickly stepped forward trying to ease the tension.
"Father, please listen," she said, her voice soft but firm. "They can't just get a divorce, their marriage isn't even up to a year," she tried convincing him.
The old man scowled, his face a map of disapproval. "I don't care about that," he snapped.
"What I care about is that he's not good enough for my granddaughter. He doesn't treat her right."
