Chapter 23 - 23.The Labyrinth of Agmilas

A fragment of consciousness suddenly gave birth to a thought: Who am I?

Immediately, countless fragments of consciousness were attracted and gathered together, forming a second thought: "I am Charlotte Mecklenburg!"

A third thought naturally followed: "No, I am Huang Haisheng."

As these three thoughts emerged one after another, more and more fragments of consciousness converged, with memories of two people intertwined and mixed. However, very quickly, a dominant consciousness suppressed various chaotic thoughts: "I am Huang Haisheng, who has traveled to this world and replaced someone to become Charlotte Mecklenburg." The memories of the two individuals instantly became distinct, with Huang Haisheng's consciousness decisively swallowing the other set of memories.

Charlotte slightly opened his eyes, feeling an excruciating headache and an overwhelming discomfort, as if he had just endured severe punishment.

At this moment, his mind was exceptionally clear. Whether it was Huang Haisheng's memories or Charlotte Mecklenburg's, every detail was laid out before him, even the smallest things were remembered, as if he had just memorized them. This included Huang Haisheng's proficiency in both Chinese and English, as well as Charlotte Mecklenburg's mastery of seven Old Continent languages, with every word as clear as if it had just been learned.

He remembered that the cultivation of "Bloody Glory" had triggered the descent of the evil god once summoned by Charlotte Mecklenburg. But that wasn't the worst part; the arrival of this evil god caused the recent contamination by the overseas evil god Agremiras to materialize. The clash of energy between the two gods had shattered his consciousness into fragments.

Charlotte had no idea how he managed to reassemble his consciousness and recover, but there was no time to dwell on it—his body was in terrible condition.

Charlotte pressed his hand against the ground, struggling to stand up. Trembling, he poured a glass of water and forced himself to drink it, clearing his mind significantly.

"This is terrifying!"

"Are the evil gods of this world really this terrifying?"

"After so much time, that diary can still attract an evil god!"

"I just barely touched that ancient painting, and I was contaminated by its residual consciousness!?"

"If an ordinary person encounters an evil god, wouldn't they have no chance of survival?"

"If it weren't for their battle..."

"I would definitely be dead."

Charlotte's body was still not fully under his control, and he suddenly sat down on the sofa, feeling something was wrong.

A few minutes later, he exclaimed in horror: "What's going on?"

The Insight Rune at the center of his forehead had become infinitely more complex than before, faintly forming the shape of an eye. The range of Insight had expanded from a sphere with a radius of fifteen steps to over a hundred steps, encompassing the entire 58 Elysée Garden Street under its supernatural ability. He could adjust his perspective from a bird's-eye view to a ground-level view, from east to west, from north to south.

About half an hour later, Charlotte finally accepted a well-known concept among Old Continent natives:

Summoning an evil god—danger and opportunity coexist.

Gazing directly at an evil god leads to a rapid increase in spiritual power!

Uncontrolled and irregular spiritual enhancement can lead to madness, death, or obliteration!

But if you can withstand it, the enhanced spirituality is a gift from the evil god.

This is an extremely dangerous but also an ironically rewarding outcome.

Surviving a direct gaze at two evil gods without dying had given Charlotte unparalleled spiritual enhancement, and his "Insight" ability was amplified more than tenfold.

Generally speaking, after cultivating "Bloody Glory" for decades and having deep mastery of the "Blood Feast Meditation," one could then elevate the Insight Rune to the level of forming an eye-like shape.

After some time, the headache Charlotte was experiencing finally subsided to a tolerable level, and he remembered that this wasn't the first time he had gazed directly at an evil god...

This also explained why "Bloody Glory" had been improving daily since returning from Senis.

Looking at the diary on the floor, Charlotte's heart suddenly skipped a beat.

This time, he didn't retreat. After all, the evil god had already been here.

Since it has already happened...

It didn't matter anymore.

Charlotte picked up the notebook, and with a light touch of his finger, a line of text appeared on the pitch-black cover: Agremiras's Maze Author: Charlotte Mecklenburg.

He was deeply shocked, not understanding how the diary had turned into Agremiras's Maze or how he had become the author.

He opened the first page, and the original diary entries were completely gone. There was not a single word on the page, but instead, a maze was drawn.

As his finger touched the page, a consciousness emerged: "Charlotte Mecklenburg summoned the Bloodline Progenitor Karnstein and defeated a remnant of the Maze Evil God from the Sea of Agres, sealing it in the diary, transforming it into Agremiras's Maze. The maze consists of fifteen pages, each page depicting a maze. If the author cannot master all fifteen mazes within the stipulated time and create the sixteenth maze to prove themselves, they will lose their status as the author and be consumed by Agremiras's Maze. Countdown: 256 days, 21 hours, and 3 minutes."

"Damn it!"

"This isn't over yet?"

"How am I supposed to master these fifteen mazes!?"

He pondered for a while, still clueless, and threw the diary onto the desk in deep despair. He noticed the blood-like writing on the floor, tried to wipe it off with his foot, but it wouldn't come off. The blood-red writing seemed etched into the floor.

Charlotte decided to get a new carpet tomorrow to cover the writing, just in case guests came over and he couldn't explain its origin.

How could he tell someone: "This was left by an evil god"?

Suddenly, Charlotte felt hungry.

He knew this was due to the sudden increase in spirituality, causing his body to consume too much energy. He went to the dining room, took a croissant, and ate it, but still felt hungry, so he took another one. Before he knew it, he had eaten all the croissants he had bought that day.

After eating the last croissant and drinking some water, Charlotte felt a little better and noticed that the water jug in the room was empty. He thought to himself, "I should make time to go back to the university and ask the professors how to master Agremiras's Maze."

"The professors at the university are under the protection of the goddess, so they probably aren't afraid of these evil gods."

Sheffield University worships the Black Moon Lady. The main reason Charlotte Mecklenburg chose this university was that it is currently the Black Moon Era!

This is the time when the goddess's power is at its peak!

Charlotte went out to the yard, drew some water from the well, washed his face with the cold water, then refilled the water jug, returned to his room, and began organizing his now-clear memories.

He still couldn't recall the time before Huang Haisheng's death, but he did "remember" how Charlotte Mecklenburg had courted disaster by summoning an evil god.

The Blood Feast Meditation, created by Protagoras, involves meditating on the thirty-seven Bloodline Progenitors, cutting them apart one by one, and turning them into a feast to consume.

The meditation steps are so complex, and the scene so bloody, that it is considered... the most brutal of all human secret arts!

At least nine Bloodline Progenitors ascended to the status of evil gods in ancient times, so the Blood Feast Meditation generally requires avoiding these nine Bloodline Progenitors. If one insists on meditating on them, it is effectively... summoning an evil god.
